What can be so bad in 15 year old's life that he would go off the deep end like this?
Prayers for all involved...

Well, apparently he used an M-1 Garand. The Floyd Co. Prosecuter keeps calling it a sniper rifle on the press conference.

The gun's not at fault....but the owner of the gun may be. The kid was a problem and should not have had access to it. His father was arrested for being drunk last night. not sure the connection.

Kid was due in court today for marijuana possession apparently. The prosecutor at the end stated something to the effect of it isn't the gun's fault. That is after he called it a sniper rifle a million times.

The M1 is NOT a sniper's rifle.
Definitely not. But then accuracy just isn't very important anymore.

Calling him a sniper is an insult to the training and skill of those qualified to be called a sniper. Calling the M1 a sniper rifle is just ignorance on the part of the speaker. A fine infantry gun, to be sure, but not a sniper rifle.
No wonder the one deputy said his leg was "destroyed." A 30.06 ...... owww. The poor Deputy that gave his life did not have a chance. I'm not sure where he was hit, but his body armor, assuming he had it on, would have barely impeded the bullet's progress, especially at that range.
Sad, sad.

What can be so bad in 15 year old's life that he would go off the deep end like this? You wouldn't want to know.
