Bet you had fun on that!!!
What bird did you take up? That's like a $400 ride at Mt. Comfort... only a handful of these old girls still flying...
The F4-U Corsair "Checkerboard" is only a one-seater, but maybe they could duct tape you to the wing... I'd love to see an over-the-wing shot of a 400+ mph powerdive...

That plane flew over me around lunch time on 465 on the east side, it was flying real slow and low, pretty cool. Neat plane.

That must have been one cool ride! Haven't been up in it (too pricey for me) but I've seen one up close at the air show and talked with a few guys who crewed one in the big war. Sure made me appreciate what those guys must have gone through.

Sorry I am just now getting around to telling about the ride.... IT WAS AWESOME! I'm a WWII plane junkie anyway, so I about fainted with I got this "assignment". I was like, "Uhhhh, OK!!!!!" LOL. The "Liberty Belle" is one of only 12 flying in the world...totally awesome experience. We were up for about 40 minutes over the North and East sides of Indy, so yes, it was us Freedom that you saw over I-465. Shooting our package in the plane was a major pain in the rear since all three major TV stations were on board, we were all banging into each other....and the noise is incredible. They have a hatch that they took off that you can literally stick your head out of the plane and look out.....I managed to fight the wind-resistance and get my head and shoulders outside the fuselage with my camera on my shoulder to get a cool shot of the tail of the aircraft, with Geist Res. below us. After a difficult squeeze and crawl with my gear into the front nose I had the thrill of a lifetime to sit in the bombers seat and look through the scope with the crosshairs picking my target. If I would have had some live 500lb bombs I would have taken out half of the East side of Indy (which isn't a bad idea anyway). So.....it was totally reflective to go up in that bird and think of all the young men who died inside similar craft. It definately makes you thankful for their sacrifice. If you want to go up in this bird.....a 30 minute flight is $430.... and available all weekend at Mt. Comfort Airport. You can see the story @ www.wthr.com/Global/category.asp?C=80073

Thought that was an old bomber, bout wrecked trying to identify it from 465. My grandfather worked on those planes in ww2. It is neat going to mt. comfort with him and having him identify and describe all the old aircraft.
