Has anyone noticed any bucks with shed velvet so far this year? If so, please list when and where you made your sighting.

My boss said he was out either Sunday or Monday (9/3 or 9/4) and jumped a buck that was all bloody from shedding. Then saw a *big* buck that was still in velvet. Wish I could share a picture of that big 'un... He got some off a trail cam, but they aren't very clear. If both sides matched, he'd easily be in the running for a new state record. The right side is a perfect 5 points, high and wide. The left side isn't very high and almost looks palmated.

Simon, my boss's older (I think he's ~11 1/2)pet buck, was in the process of finishing up his shedding today... I'd seen him a few times last week, and the velvet was getting "wooly", if you will, so I knew it would be getting close. He's about to get *REALLY* mean here in a few more weeks. On the other hand, Junior, the younger (think he's ~4-5 1/2) buck still had his velvet (we think). He's not coming in the barn much right now.
