Not necessarily aesthetic. I think its time for a running thread on getting the job done well, cheap. If it can be done with drywall screws, duct tape, and prayers, post it. Pictures and diagrams more than welcome.
Perhaps Old Ironsights can regale us in his posting over at boolits the story of his gun safe and reloading bench.

Pictures and diagrams more than welcome. Perhaps Old Ironsights can regale us in his posting over at boolits the story of his gun safe and reloading bench. Yeah, sure. Talk me into it... Sometimes a "real" gun safe is just "too" secure... 'cause every lowlife scumbag can see it and sus out what's inside - i.e. they scream GUNS! Break In and try to Steal Me! Not mine though. Might not be as "secure" as a safe, but it's fireproof and "invisible"... Pretty Kitty, hiding popsicles & steaks.... Not quite. Then there is the problem of where to put a work/reloading bench... especially one that you can properly walk around. No problem. Just raid an old Hospital. 2 presses and a bench vice that can go anywhere I need them to be. The Upright Freezer came Free from an appliance repair shop who would otherwise have to pay to haul it off. The solid Steel, Brass & 3/4" wood hospital table came from a defunct nursing home (don't try this with a modern folded-metal & plastic jobby). The barrel rest is a hunk of 2x3 with 1/2 dia notches cut out with a "doorknob" drill/hole saw. Weatherstripping & Duct Tape act as cushion. I think I have about $30 in fiddly bits (bolts, nuts, new lock, etc) and Cleaning Supplies (Dead Freezer = YUCK!) invested in the whole thing.

Looks good but what happens when the thief decides to check and see if there is a cold beer in the fridge? LOL h.h.

I hope you accept non-outdoor related stories... This is embarassing, but recently I had a gutter clogged due to the previous owner's neglect. It was stopped solid from the roof throughout the first bend. No matter what type of snake-thing or probe I tried, no dice. I was sick of the weekly spring waterfall over the side of the gutter, so out of pure frustration, I hacksawed a section out and removed the clog. the Hardware store lacked any pieces that would work for a patch. I finally grabbed the duct tape, carefully secured the sections together and sprayed them white to minimize the sun damage. So far it has held very well. So, use number 3,800 for duct tape.

A high pressure water jet would have opened that down spout, I assure you!.....however you saved yourself about 300.00 by not calling one!

Nice gun locker OIS. I saw one made out of an old pop machine one time. Those things lock up pretty tight.
The old fridge also can make a pretty nice smoker. It already has the racks and it's air tight. All you have to do is add some ventilation and a hot plate for chips and charcoal.

One of my old houses had an old upright freezer just like that. I couldn't wait to get rid of it so I could store all my gear on shelves. Then one day it dawned on me the freezer made a perfect storage locker, plenty of shelves and door storage, shuts tight. I used it for about 6 yrs but had to leave it in the last house as I don't have the room for it or most of my gear at the new place!
Never thought of the gun locker!

Ouch, Camby! Now I am REALLY glad I used the duct tape! The whole works is showing it's age anyway, and ain't worth spending much on before it's eventual replacement. Some of those gutters had been clogged for years. How do people stand it??
Good idea with the fridge. With a little work you could put a decent lock on one I imagine.
