Cell phone gun. Read this and then watch the video clip! Most see airport security as a pain. Some deal better than others. Some feel violated, when you watch this movie, you'll understand why they want your cell phone through the x-ray machine. If you get asked to test your cell phone at the airport, this is the reason. Because cell phone guns have arrived. They are real. The attached video clip shows how cell phone guns operate. These phones have not been found in the U.S. yet, but they are in use overseas. Beneath the digital phone face is a 22 caliber handgun capable of firing four rounds in rapid succession using the standard telephone keypad. European law enforcement officials are stunned by the discovery of these deadly decoys. They say phone guns are changing the rules of engagement in Europe .. Only when you have one in your hand do you realize that they are heavier than a regular cell phone. Be patient if security asks to look at your cell phone or turn it on to show that it works. They have a good reason! Welcome to our world....

Is the ad in the middle of the post for anyone else? Or is it just me/Netscape? This isn't the first thread that's it's been a problem....

It is right under the first post on every page of every thread. Not a lot I can do about it though, except to go ad free and that costs $$$. I have found that I just read right on past them.. . .

Yeah, I knew they had moved the ads.
Problem is- sometimes (especially threads with first posts that are longer or have pics in them) the ads are in the middle of the first post, and completely covering the text/pics.
This time it was the text that was covered up. In johnc911's thread the other day about the new tractor, the ad was covering the middle of the tractor picture. It's been that way with a few others too. However, when I opened this thread up for a second time, the ad was in the correct location.
I'm not complaining about the ads- I realize they are what keeps this site free and I'm thankful there is a way to keep it free for all. However, when they are covering up text/pics, it's just slightly annoying...
Anyway, back to the topic at hand, yes, those are very concerning. I don't think I'd even like to have one to play around with....

I had not seen any ads in the posts themselves.
The ones I have seen almost look like the second post in a thread.
It might be just a glitch as I woudn't think they would be designed to go in the middle of a post.
Let me know if it keeps up.
Thanks..

Like so many other problems I have with a few sites, I've got a feeling it's got something to do with the way Netscape works compared to IE. I don't particularly like IE, so I use Netscape...

danf - If you do not use IE ( I don't either) then the way to go is Mozilla Firefox.

"They say phone guns are changing the rules of engagement in Europe .. "
Aren't all types of handguns, and most others as well, illegal in good old England anyway?

Those have been around for a long time. Lots of "interesting" NFA "other" devices out there for those willing to either (A) Pony up the for the Class III tax stamp or (B) try really hard to have the BATFE kick in their door...

How about a .410 in a Maglight? hackedgadgets.com/2007/03/09/shotgun-flashlight/According to the company who made the few extant copies: I.E. "We made these as a marketing gimmick to show off what we can do, but the BATFE requirements made it a huge PITA so we stopped."
