of the absolute mind-numbing stupidity of Islamo Facists and Islamofacist nations... Consider, with all their "might" they can't build a nuclear device. And yet, Red Blooded American Highschoolers do it in their basement for Science Projects. discovermagazine.com/2007/mar/radioactive-boy-scout

When I was in high school, I had a hard time rebuilding the carburetor on my Chevy.

Actually, I find it rather uplifting. Our Kids are smart enough to be doing quantum physics at home but the best our enemies can come up with is a kamakazi attack.

I just wish some Kid would be intelligent enough to produce a engine or motor that is powered by electromegnetic/gravity impulse drive using our Earth's gravity reversing polarity to provide power. Now that would be "Quantium Physics".

I hear you on that..We have been talking about that in my electricity class(we have been studying magnetic induction and all that the last few weeks),it's above my head right now.If we can send people to the space and to the moon, surely we can do that.I'm sure the big oil guys wouldn't like it

In my free time I've been toying around with a new concept...... I've been trying to harness the power of STEAM, into some sort of piston-type engine. If I get it working, why....why we could sail across the oceans without sails!!!!!

BSU-steam engine- hilarious.
Kids building nuclear reactors in their basements? Now that is scary.
As for the big oil. Wasn't it in the 40's or 50's that some one developed a carburetor the was efficient enough to get 50 miles per gallon or something in that nature. Hell look at what they did to that Tucker guy that wanted to build cars. Now we seem to have and use many of his designs and innovations. What happened to the hydrogen engine? Oh yeah it needs another 30 years for development.

TGAs? (Terminally Guided Arrows)... hmmm... Thermal ID or LASER designation? Whichever one would be the most effective against "jumping the string"! ;D ;D ;D

It also currently has too limited a range. Not to mention the trillion dollar overhaul of the entire fuel infrastructure nationwide. I'm cool toward the subject of hydrogen propulsion, that stuff is dangerous to handle, difficult to store in a quantity that would propel a car for more than a relative few miles, and it's harder and more expensive to produce than gasoline. All that just to produce a trickle of electricity? Pfffttt! The technology to produce batteries that will drive the car an acceptable number of miles will beat hydrogen to the production line by at least 20 years.

Hydrogen powered vehicle technology is the easy part. What needs researched and improved is the logistics of such an enterprise.
GM has had the technology down for about 5 years. As far as the vehicle is concerned, there are still safety issues. Anyone remember the Hindenberg? There are currently studies being done about a pressurized hydrogen system that, if the pressure is breached, the hydrogen is hypermixed with other elements to make it less explosive. So far, there has been promise, but not enough to ensure the proper chemical reaction everytime.
On the logisitcs side. I pose everyone a challenge. Call an insurance company, and tell them you want to start a business, and you will need insurance. When they ask, for what, tell them, "I am going to haul hydrogen under extreme pressure." She how many times you hear them laugh before they hang up the phone. There are also issues with hydrogen purification on that scale. Not to mention, keeping the hydrogen cold enough to keep it under the pressure required to haul enough hydrogen in one truck, to make it worthwhile to any trucking company.
Lots more issues than the car. The car is the least of the issues at this point.
