Just one more way he show`s what a classy and down-to-earth guy he is.
Too bad some like Peyton can`t represent Indianapolis for the Pacers.

I have a lot of respect for Peyton as well as Tony Dungy...both very respectable role models on and off the field! Unfortunately SNL will be either past my bedtime, or I'll be trying to get schoolwork done, so hopefully someone will put it (or parts of it) on YouTube...

It was fun watching Peyton do his stuff, but most of the rest of the show was just a reminder why I hadn't watched it in twenty years or so. It was funny when Chevy Chase, John Belushi, Gilda Radner, and Jane Curtain (sp?) were on, and the skits usually had some sort of punch line or ending to them, but went downhill quickly after they left, and the few times I'd checked it out since had been brief and seldom.
Seems like they come up with a situation that has the potential to be funny, then just drag it out until you're relieved when they finally move on.
Best regular part of it is the spoof of the evening news.
The animated skit wasn't bad, and the piece with Peyton and the kids in the playground football game was pretty funny, but was tortured into filling twice the time it should have lasted.
They amped up the band in the musical piece until I couldn't make out much of the lyrics of the singer, same way they did back when I gave up on the show long ago, so I suppose they figure most of their audience prefers it that way.
Maybe it would still be really funny for me if I was still high school age and either stoned or drunk.
Anyway, Peyton did very well, and seemed to be having a good time.

Peyton has plenty of dirt in his closet...he's not as squeaky clean as you'd think. He hasn't done anything that most of us haven't done....I'm just saying he's no choir boy. He did an AWESOME job with SNL last night. The United Way spoof was genius! We are airing plenty of the clips throughout the morning on Channel 13. I hope that SNL or NBC makes this episode available on DVD.

I was very disappointed with him and also his use of language. I would have expected it to be something I would have let my kids watch. I am quite sure you wouldn't have seen Dungy using that kind of language. I am sure some guys will think I am crazy but my opinion of him has somewhat dropped after watching him last night.

You've gotta keep in mind 10pt that SNL is certainly NOT a show for kids.....even if Peyton, or the Pope is hosting it. Yep, you are right.......I don't think you'd see Coach hosting SNL anytime soon. I wouldn't go so far as to drop my opinion of him for tossing out a few words that were intentionally "bleeped" for humor-sake. I've been around Peyton many, many times.....when cameras are rolling, and when they are not......and I've never heard him drop an "F-bomb" or anything remotely obscene.

Payton was good, SNL in general was not. No wonder I haven't watched it in over 10 years.

I really like Payton, the colts and coach Dungy, but I must say I Was disappointed with his performance on Saturday night live. I think it was mostly the script given to him. Just think if any one but Payton had done the skits ,Colts fans would have said ,not very funny. I agree with others, overall SNL has not been that good for years.

I really don't think Peyton actually said any "bad" words in front of the kids. I think he could has just said "Shucks" and they just added the beeps. They can beep good words as well as bad words.. www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/video/#mea=84993

I think racktracker is right... same trick they use for the "Unnecessary Editing" segments that Jimmy Kimmel and Letterman have done... place a beep on any word ending with "k" or "...ked" and your brain fills in the blank...
I thought the United Way thing was off the charts!!! I about spewed a mouthful of mountain dew out when he sent the kid to the port-o-let... one of the better episodes of SNL in a long time...
Russ... I agree with your take on the original cast vs. today's snl... interestingly, if you go to their website for clips, they had a poll on the all-time favorite female cast member... Gilda Radner was the top pick...
There's just too much violins on television....
