map quest is saying that I should go over to Illionis and then go south.
is there a more direct route to Reelfoot Lake from Indiianapolis?

Went there once several years ago. Although from T.H. not Indy but down thru the middle of Ill is probably the best and shortest.

If you are looking for the fastest route from Camby, then map quest is correct: I-70 then down through middle of Illinois. Another route down is to take SR 67 to 3 miles south of Worthington, then 57 south to Evansville, pick up US 41 south through Henderson & Madisonville, then pick up the tollway heading west towards Mayfield & on down to Reelfoot. Distance wise it is a bit shorter, but is probably and hour + longer drive time.

I would take 70 west to Terre Haute then 41 south thru Evansville, and Henderson , Ky. Pick up the Breathitt parkway on the south end of Henderson, Ky to the Wendell Ford parkway south of Madisonville, Ky west to I - 24 at the Ky lake area then onto the Julian Carroll Parkway and take it southwest to Fulton, Ky pick up hwy 51 to Union City , Tn. Hwy 22 out of Union City will get you to Reelfoot..... All 4 lane hwy till you get to Tennessee. It may even be 4 lane from the Tn line to Union City now they were working on it last time I passed thru that area.
