According to the paperwork on my desk.... $102. $60 MO to the State and $42 Cash to the Sherriff. "no current" is supposed to add $15 to the fee. It also adds $8 to the sheriff. Mine is $50 to the sheriff and $75 to the state. Total $125 Pity we have to pay anything for a God given "right". . The $75 would be right ($60+$15"late fee"), but it's Interesting how LaPorte Co wants $8 less than Warrick...

I couldn't attest to the accuracy, but a woman at the Indy police dept. told the wife & I that our receipt for renewal would serve as our permit until the real permit arrived in the mail. It took about 3 months for mine to finally come. parson I was told this same information

SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!
Mine came today.
Pretty chintzy piece of paper that I have to cut it out of.
I have to get my laminator back from my daughter and get this laminated before I put it in my billfold. It would not last long as a piece of paper.

That`s a shame too-my hunting partner`s daughter is getting married to a kid from Tennessee-his carry permit looks like a drives license, nice and sturdy.
Too bad Indiana can`t do something a little better than a piece of paper that has to be laminated.

Yeah, if it was plastic like a drivers license or credit card, it would be better to carry.
One nice feature of the one they give out on the plain cheap paper, though. You don't have to worry too much about ever having to replace it if you have access to a decent copier and the foresight to clone a few backups while the real one is still fresh 8^).

I renewed my last one almost a year ago - about 2 days beofre it expired. Mooreseville PD told me the same thing everyone is saying - if your permit has not expired before you renew it, the receipt of application serves as the permit until the new one arrives. If you let it lapse, you have to wait for the new one to arrive.
KY also has a decent looking permit - complete w/ picture ... much like a driver's license, but theirs also costs more, requires a training class, and range qualification.

I'm sure they were probably swamped. Everyone I talked is afraid they'll take it away just like they did the LL.
