My first thought was that Putin doesn't sissy-foot around like someone else we are familiar with. I look for a fast and devastating response once he figures out who is responsible. I heard on a podcast today that there is a video of one of the terrorists receiving some electricity in the crotch and another with his ear cut off. Inhumane? Yes. Does the punishment fit the crime? Almost, but not there yet. Keep shocking and cutting.

I read where the governor of Maine tried to enact vehicle emissions and EV standards to "mirror California." That should have been the first immediate red flag. The proposal was voted down by both parties in the state legislature.
Did this fool not pay attention when EV batteries failed during a cold snap in the mid-west? Main doesn't have occasional frigid temps. It gets cold and stays cold. What an idiot!
One Democrat stated that EV's simply don't fulfill the needs of his rural constituents and they can't afford neither the car itself nor the required upgrade to charge them.

Pay attention folks!
From what I interpret, in order for automakers to meet overall emissions requirements, by 2030 56% of new car sales will have to be EV's and 13% will have to be hybrids. This is to offset the emissions of normal gas and diesel fueled vehicles.
Comments from electric industry insiders indicate that it would take a minimum of 15 years for the electric grid to be updated enough to handle that amount of EV's.
In my opinion, this is just another step towards forcing us, the American consumer, to fall in line with the climate wackos. Think about DEF. As far as I can tell, it's nothing more than perfume for diesel exhaust. It's another expense and a pain in the rump. I had a company owned Duramax that consumed over $4k in DEF system repairs prior to hitting 150k on the odometer. I personally will not buy another diesel vehicle. Diesel fuel used to be considerably less in price than gasoline. Not anymore. Any one else have a hunch that this is all a ploy by the Gvt to discourage diesel power?
I could go on and on about EV's and the lack of practicality for most of us. If you have one and it suits your needs, more power to you. I briefly had a Ford Maverick hybrid and loved it. It did not, however, serve the same purpose as a "real" truck. It was like a small suv without covered storage.
I'm a firm believer that most people, myself included, don't give enough attention to what is going on around us until it hits the wallet. I for one have made it a point to do a better job keeping up with current happening that can, and will, hit me sooner or later.

Saturday was the first time I have watched IU from tip-off this season. The thing I immediately noticed was the lack of any Indiana residents in the starting lineup.

I read two articles this morning that really caught my attention. No surprise, one in CA and the other in NY.
Utility companies in CA are proposing an additional tax not based on usage, but rather based on income. Households making more than $180k would be assessed $85-$125/month in addition to the usage fee.
NY is proposing a new regulation on restaurants that use coal or wood to fuel their ovens, particularly pizza joints. They will be forsed to install "scrubbers" to the exhaust systems AND have them regularly inspected by an engineer. I thing the cost is estimated a $130k for the equipment.
"This would never happen in Indiana" Think so? Just ask states like TX, UT, ID, etc. People are fleeing high-cost states and taking their politics with them. They are leaving due to taxes and overall cost of living, rarely for overreaching governments.
I don't think there are many on this forum, but if you plan to vote for Biden just because you don't like Trump's behavior, you are doing this country a disservice. If one thinks Biden is running the show, one is a damn fool. He's nothing more than a declining mouthpiece for the far-left.
I have no illusion that there is any hope for my FIL, but I am going to try to convince my own father. He despises Trump based solely on his verbal behavior. I urge everyone else to do the same if you know someone with similar political views.

RFK Jr. is anti-vax and that does it for me. He has expressed some good ideas, but some of his campaign staff and advisers are close to some Russians. I think he is more pro-responsible vax than anti. I would not rely on the information and infinite wisdom of the media when forming opinions. I don't care what anyone says or thinks, but a third party candidate will never be successful in a Presidential election. Never has, never will. Maybe successful in screwing it up (Ross Perot), but not going to win. If anyone is "on the fence" about who to vote for, just pay attention to your money, or lack of. Look at your utility bills, grocery receipts, insurance premiums, home repair materials costs, etc. Do some research on how much taxpayer money is spent on illegal immigrants, foreign aid, LGBTQBLAHBLAHBLAH causes, etc. I'm not saying that the President is the deciding factor, but that's where it all starts.

Over 15 years of being a "travel ball coach/Dad", get her something that fits her hand and you can break in easily. I wouldn't go crazy with money until you are sure she likes softball. Good luck, they're only little for a short time, enjoy the ride! Great advice on waiting until she decides on being dedicated. I spent too much money on tennis gear for our youngest to play one season. She has never touched a racket since.

After waiting for him to be LATE, I watched maybe 10 minutes. As expected, it was a campaign speech, not an address to the Nation.
Good thing there wasn't a drinking game created related to how many times Kamala stood up to clap. Today would be like the Monday after the Super Bowl.

I've bought from them a few times. I picked up the fish at the feed store in Scottsburg. I'd get the order in asap to ensure availability.
I don't own any ponds, but my former employer wanted me to stock two of his. The one was a 100% start from nothing. The spillway pipe failed and drained the pond. After reconstruction, I stocked it and the fish did great. It now has healthy bass, bluegill, and red ear. It's hard to tell with the other one. It was way overpopulated with bass. I caught and kept all I could before adding bluegill and red ear. I have caught some really nice bluegill, both hybrid and regular, but not a single red ear.

My in-laws are dead set against Trump. Last Saturday, they started the conversation. I try to avoid politics with family, but they didn't get the hint. EVERYTHING is Trump's fault! He's racist, narcissistic, and mistreated the veterans and the auto workers. I calmly asked for specific examples of everything they were hating on him for and I got NOTHING! Nobody in here is a bigger supporter than I am, BUT, Trump can be his own worst enemy. Without question, they would vote for literally anyone else. Same thing with my FIL and own father. I don't engage with my father simply because he isn't an a-hole about his political beliefs. My FIL, on the other hand, is. However, I promised my MIL (rip) that I would not discuss politics with him unless he starts it, and he rarely does.

Taking the day off, kids are out of school going to grill and watch from home. Same here. Supposed to be 90% from where we live. I could care less about the eclipse. All I know is that a few other families are coming for a cook out and I get to goof around and drink some beer. My wife bought some glasses from Amazon. I think they were $3.00 or so each.

Neighbors moved to a place about 45 minutes N of Tampa and they love it down there. Not on the beach but sorta close. Too dang hot for me in the summer. I'd have to have a boat for fresh water. A customer winters at Lake Okeechobee. He slays the crappie there. I know a guy that has a place near Okeechobee as well. About all he does is fish and play golf. Sounds like a good plan to me.

Mowed the yard yesterday. I can't remember ever mowing this early in March.
So foggy here this morning that it feels like a misty rain.
