My pickling cukes were still producing like crazy, but I made all the pickles we can eat (5 gallons sunshine pickles, 4 gallons sour dill, 2 gallons bread and butter and one gallon dill chips). Last week I pulled the vines and planted summer squash in their place.
Been getting a steady stream of tomatoes, picked a good batch of romas and made 24 half-pints of pizza sauce over the weekend.
Been pulling green onions as needed for recipes, need to look into preserving some.
Strange year for all of my pepper varieties, but they seem to be getting it in gear.

I have a Marlin Model 1895SS in 45/70. Most recently I've used it in Michigan, with cases cut to 1.8" and a 300 grain Barnes TSX. Most of my full length case loads were with 300 or 350 grain Hornady Interlock bullets. I never chronographed any of the loads, but according to published data, they were right around 2000 fps.
I'm looking forward to your range reports to see how your Henry shoots and what loads it likes best.

Catman built a cart for this purpose, not sure how well it actually worked. Probably OK on fairly level ground and trails.

I see you've got your period. That's good, cause you know what a missed period can mean.

Woody, do you know of anyone living with more decedents than you and your wife? I don’t think so. 3 kids, 7 grandkids, 16 great grand babies and 1 great, great grand baby. Gods has truly blessed us! And those are just the ones you know about! Just Kidding Woody! Glad the delivery went well.

Radishes and beets are my only crops so far. Pickling cukes are a couple weeks away.
I make pickles known as "sunshine pickles". You put them in a jar, add brine with seasoning, then cover and put outide on the deck for a few days to ferment. Then into the fridge for at least a week. Anyone else make pickles this way? I'm interested to hear any other methods.

Had a co-worker that had this years ago. He said he was able to get over it by eating very small amounts of meat, increasing over time. Hopefully you'll get past this in time. Either way, I'm glad you're above-ground to tell us about it. It sure beats the alternative.
Felt a lot heavier carrying it out I weighed it on my deer scale that goes to 350lbs. I think it was a lot heavier.
You can use a scale like that, but you need to add in an object of known weight. Say you have a couple 25 Lb weights lying around. Hook them to the scale and note the weight value. Obviously it should be around 50 lb, but may be off a few lbs one way or the other. Then add the turkey to the scale with the weights still attached and note this weight value. Subtract the "weights only"' value from the "weights plus turkey" value and you'll have an accurate measurement of your turkey's weight.
I do the same thing when traveling to determine whether my suitcase is over weight. Get on the scale to get my weight, then pick up the suitcase to get my weight plus the suitcase, then subtract the two numbers to get the weight of the suitcase.

Great morning ….but extremely quiet. Haven’t heard any gobbling at all. I heard one shot that sounded like it about a 1/4 mile east of us. I hope you 2 can get some blood on the Tom Toter Woody!

My clothes got the tick treatment again this year as well. Too many nasty consequences these days. There's even an illness caused by ticks that can make a person allergic to red meat. That's not gonna work for me.

An Austrian Shepherd and a German Shepherd walk into the local pub.
They find place to sit.
The Austrian Shepherd looks at the German Shepherd and asks, "Why is it that everyone assumes we're dogs?"

A few of my coworkers enjoy venison. I'm making Austrian style braised venison shanks tomorrow evening, to bring to work on Friday. Using Hank Shaw's recipe as a guide. I highly recommend his book titled Buck, Buck, Moose.

Easily dealt with if you write a receipt stating that the loads are from a published manual indicating they have been tested and found to be within safe pressure limits. Add that you followed accepted loading procedures and the loads have been found to be safe in your gun. Finish with a disclaimer that by choosing to use the loads, the person assumes all liability for any property or physical damage that may result. Have him sign the receipt and keep it for your records.

Reminds me of a morning too many years ago. Several hunters congregated in the driveway at dawn, making plans for the first deer drive. The guy that lived there (Dick) had an old blind beagle named Hunter. He was freindly of course and was running from person to person, getting of good sniff of each pant leg. A guy we called Johnny Logger (because he was one) was wearing some logging pants that he claimed were good cover scent. His pant legs were stiff from the knee down and completely coated with pine pitch and shavings. When Hunter got to Johnny he gave a good sniff, lifted his leg and let fly all over Johnny's leg. Johnny was a little surprised, looked at Dick and said "What the heck (or something like that)!?" Dick hardly looked up, turned his head to spit some Redman, and said "Well I'll be damned, them pants are good cover scent."
Maybe a "had to be there" kind of thing, but I still laugh when I think of it. Thanks for the reminder Huntsemall!

A German Shepherd, Doberman and a cat have died.
All three are faced with God who wants to know what they believe in.
The German shepherd says: "I believe in discipline training and loyalty to my master."
"Good," says God. "Then sit down on my right side. Doberman, what do you believe in?"
The Doberman answers: "I believe in the love, care and protection of my master."
Ah," said God. "You may sit to my left."
Then he looks at the cat and asks, "And what do you believe in?"
The cat answers: "I believe you're sitting in my seat".
