You might not think you were so lucky if you did, quite literally, have the HNF in your backyard, at least during firearms season. ;D
My family's property joins a section of the Hoosier National and I generally avoid hunting the HNF during the first weekend of firearms season and Thanksgiving weekend.

I would take more here on our farm, but there is that darn 2 bonus antlerless restriction here in Noble county. I killed 5 deer last year, and got 1 road kill deer. I hate going to the store and having to pay for meat that is not as good as "farm raised" venison. Oh well, I have secured some other county property for hunting this fall....20 mins. away. They might even split the take with you.

Had some guys out last year, worked out pretty good. Took a total of 13, and some road kills (4 I think) Got some more lined up for this season. We killed a good number then right after season I had a deer cam pic of that many......overall, I believe the county should be at 4. Even with that though, as has been said, guys will only kill so many. I think the that tags should be 5 dollars after the first 24.00.....I am working on getting the hunting privledges on another 100 acres a half mile from me to split the hunters up and spread us out. Good deal.
You know there are pockets within some of these lesser bonus number counties that are flat over run with deer.
It is almost like the DNR should manage them by townships.
That would be tough to do, but I think that farmers should have a little more leeway during regular season on how many a person can kill on that particular piece of property.
That might even cut back on nuisance deer permits.
Just a thought..

Yeah , that was over at HNI on the Midwest forum , don't remember who it was though , he didn't hang around long . More power to you if you can use the meat or know someone who can , but I think I'll stick to what I can use and "gift" to those in need . I truly wish I could process them better , that way I could "gift" more often . I love the way that feels , so I guess I'll have to study up some more !

I know several 8-10 older gentlemen that want me to kill deer for them, they've even offered to purchase my tag for me. I obviously don't kill enough every year for all of them, but if i can get in and out of KY quick enough this year, maybe i'll be able to give them all at least one!! Lovin' it!! ;D

This is basically an unlimited number of antlerless deer that can be taken if a person has the tags and wants to travel some to hunt. Allow me to rephrase ... Man it's good to be an LL holding meat hunter here ! YOU SUCK! ;D
