I've been lucky (so far) by only dropping my Hunting Knife. I make a point to carry just a few items while hunting.

Dropped a hot load. Just got all tied-off, locked-in, & dressed when I was overcome with the worst & quickest case of lower GI activity imaginable. WOW!!!!!!!! What a mess to deal with in 20 degree weather.

A borrowed shotgun one fo the first years I ever hunt in gun season. Stuck barrel first after the string broke. My bow once, it was in a bow holder and just fell out !
Everything else I've ever taken into a tree with me ! So many hats and gloves I carry extras so I don't have to go get them .

I've dropped everything at least once. The worst is when I fell asleep and dropped my bow! I was so mad at myself I was going to leave my bow lay down there, but then I figured a huge buck would walk under me and then I would REALLY be mad at myself!!

Heres one i forgot about that happened last year. the first time i hunted Fairbanks landing it was in the afternoon. i found a spot with several game trails going into a picked cornfield with the wind blowing into the field. i got setup in my climber a long the trails just on the edge of the field. the wind was perfect. about 1 1/2 before dark the wind did a 180 blowing my scent in the direction of were the deer should come from. the only cover scent i had with me was SKUNK and boy is that stuff potent. i only used it twice and both times as soon as the deer smelled it they hauled ass.
i figured if i didn't do something they would smell me and leave anyway because the setup was kind of low due to the small trees. i carefully unscrewed the lid and put some on a Q-tip. this stuff is strong! trying to be careful i started to screw the lid back on and then dropped the lid down the tree. bummer! the tree had no branches to set the bottle on and the scent was gagging me. finally i decided to throw it the furtherest i could down wind. i gave it a big throw about 25-30 yds and all of it spilled out. at least i wasn't down wind. low and behold the wind does another 180 and blows the scent back toward the tree. now i've got to set there and smell this stuff till dark. man was i glad to get out of that tree. I'll never use that stuff again! lol h.h.

I've forgotten my boots before, had white tennis shoes on. I just tried to cover the best I could got a shot on a nice buck but missed. I know the feeling of droping something important "Oh #@$%, it took me 15 min. to get set up as quietly as I could now I gotta get back down there and pick it back up! #@$%!" Speaking of "forgetting". How about getting up a midnight & driving all the way to Crane NWSC Burns City gate. Waiting patiently in line for the check-in gate to open. Gate opens and we finally snail our way to check-in when my brother discovers he left his check-in papers at the house. Game over!!!!!!!!!!!! *#@^(%$*#*^@+-*%

After 40+ years of climbing trees if I have taken it up it has found a way to come dowm unexpectetly including me. One real bad thing was when using the old Bakers without a climbing device was getting up there and realizing there was nothing attached to the string.

Many little things.
The worst was last fall when I dropped MYSELF out of the stand. My muzzleloader went flying too. Fortunately I was not hurt thanks to a full body Summit harness. Gun survived as well. ;D

This past bow season, a few of my friends and i went to lynnville (near five points). Their were 4 of us, and we have a blast getting together when time allows for it. Anyhow, we got to the woods about an hour and half before daylight, sittin in the truck, shooting the crap, laughing and carryin' on, we got our crap ready and headed for the woods, i went the farthest in the woods since i knew the area well, i was a good 30-45 min walk from the truck, anyhow i hooked up my climber to the tree, tied my..........oh !@$@ i left my bow in the truck!!!!!!!!
The guys give still give me crap about it!

Can't say as I remember dropping anything while in a tree and hunting... I've dropped a few things while doing tree work though.
Of course I do a lot of hunting from the ground. Probably spend less than 50% of my time in a tree...
