Out of town or state trips,Lodging,Gas,Food, license,Fees,Ammo,Targets, practice at range, tree stands, clothing, processing?, Taxidermy,Misc Equipment, scent control, bug spray, calls,Attractents, decoys, off season Scouting, replacing items. Bribes for wife? really adds up fast doesn't it. we really do contribute to the states economy

I refuse to answer that question in writing. Does a $3500 Brown bear mount have to be calculated into this?

Since I already have my hunting equipment like guns ammo, etc. About the only expenditure I have is fuel, and License & Tags.

Do I have to include my mortgage payment since I hunt on the ground my house is on?? If so, it's no where close to any of the figures you have in the poll.... Take out the mortgage, and I voted in the $250-500 range, but that's just a guess. I spend a lot on gas driving back and forth to my parents place to hunt, but I try to use the excuse of cutting/splitting firewood to go up there.

Man if you figure vehicles as hunting gear such as 4x4 trucks that most really don't need if it were not for our hobbies, that can get ugly fast. Not to mention gas at $3/gallon these days. Add some equipment here and there most of us don't want to know what our annual budget is.
Some years I buy what I want, others I sell what I had and make due without dipping into the bank. I have always felt that I could eat steak and lobster a whole lot if I didn't hunt. I just enjoy everything about hunting way to much to worry about a few dollars here or there I spend on hunting. It would easily top $1K just in gas, gear, wear and tear, vet bills, dog food, target practice, new arrows, processing equipment........
I don't go out of state verry often, don't lease or own my hunting properties, own an old POS truck, have a comp. lifetime license so those don't add to my cost. But I do a lot of scouting, buy a bit of ammo (mainly steel for waterfowl), hunt as much as possible in my area and still spend a good amount of cash. I don't see how anyone who hunts on a regular basis could keep it under $500/yr

As the TV commercial says some things are priceless,No matter how much I spend on Hunting, I still think it is a bargain for the return on my money.

I budget 200 dollars a year. Have to stretch the dollars, do all my own processing, buy things on clearance and make them last. I write them all down, last year I spent 137.64. So I was under budget. Fletchings, new string, a camo t-shirt, some gas for the ATV.....oh and my family knows that for Christmas/birthday/fathers day I only take gift certificates... Solo

Probably around $250-300 on average. Some years I buy a lot less. I use things till they fall apart generally. I'm still wearing camo bought in 2000. Boots I had bought then fell apart this spring hog hunting so I've got an additional expense this year. I still haven't replaced them yet. I have till Nov. so I've got a little time.
