LOL! Woody......"...freedom be DANGED..." I guess the original word must have been over the line in your opinion, even though it's in very common usage on public TV and doesn't draw an "R" rating, and is very commomly used in the Bible and from the pulpits, best I can recall. OK, your site, your rules, and I'll try to remember to not use that word again. My apologies if it offended you--guess it couldn't have offended anyone else due to your quick action to protect the other readers. But, gee whillikers, could you maybe just put little dashes or asterisks or something in there if I slip up again, instead of substituting something Gabby Hayes would have said? 8^) "Doggone the torpedoes, full speed ahead!" ......"Dadburned Yankees"..... give me some time, I'll find a suitable substitute. Just joshing with you, my friend. I'm sure it's a big job to police the site, and not too much time is available for judging each apparent language abuse. I'll try to not push the envelope. I agree completely that vulgarities are not productive or attractive. I thought the word I used was the most appropriate under the circumstances and would have passed muster in the context used, but I won't argue the point. Vulgarity is also in the eye of the beholder. Probably a good time for me to say "Thanks" to you for providing the site. Looking better all the time.

Back in 1939 Rhett Butler shocked the movie world when he told Scarlett O'Hara ," Frankly my dear, I don't give a dang". Wow! the censor got me too. I read a lot of the posts and respond to a lot too, but I, nor the moderators, can catch them all. That is why we have set up censored words program. Since we are not going to censor the word "God" in here (although are not establishing a religion ) , we censor a word that can be put with "God" and that would go beyond our desired "G" rating and I don't like those two words together... But, I didn't catch and change the word. We have it set up where the site automatically catches them and subsitutes what word we want. Now, what is wrong with Gabby Hayes? Did you prefer Smiley Burnett? We should be careful here as we are revealing our ages. The younger members will ask," Who in the dang tarnation are they talking about anyway?" I'm glad that you are enjoying the site and as always look forward to all of your posts. You are a much welcomed addition to any site.

It's too bad they have to waste any time and effort on this. Don't we have more important issues they should be addressing.
I grew up respecting people and traditions. Many times I have been in unusual situations where I was not familular with either of the above or both. However I still respected the way they did things. Same with our "Nation Under God".
Sorry if some might be offended that we are a Christian based nation. Sad part is most of the people who raise the biggest stink are not of other religions but purly egotistical SOBs who want to change everyone else, just so they can get their one minute of glory on the evening national news.
David Orntlicker criticized Bosma for holding a voluntary prayer and declared the only reason it was held was pollitical. No Crap, the only reason this is an issue is purly political!!!! Somebody wants to prove someone else wrong, plain and simple.
It's pretty sad in my oppinion that this is even an issue.

Best part of getting cable was the Western Channels. After a few years now of having that option on my TV, I think I may have memorized every western ever made. Our "grandbaby" (my son and daughter-in-laws pug) sits upright in the easy chair with me and watches the westerns. Loves the horse chases.

Yep.. They bring back memories of my childhood at the Ross Theater. Watching Lash Larue, Whip Wilson, Durango Kid, Hopalong Cassidy, Wild Bill Elliot and my favorite of all time Bob Steele. hoover.archives.gov/exhibits/HollywoodCowboys/leading%20men/BobSteele.htmlThey all had six shooters that shot eleventy seven times without reloading. I never cared much for Gene and Roy. They were OK until they started that singing stuff and THEN yodeling on top of that. Pheeewwww!.

Being MUCH younger than you, I carried my Hoppy lunchbox to school, and later became a Gene Autry fan. Actually got to see Gene and Champion on stage once up in South Bend, a little over fifty years ago. The movies we caught on TV included most of the abovementioned heroes, and for some reason also seemed to be rife with Hoot Gibson movies, although I've rarely seen any of his among the Western Channel offerings. Seemed like the majority of the films back then had the sound track out of synch with the picture. Remember when the sound of the gunfire would occur a while after the shooter ducked down behind the boulder? the Lone Ranger didn't have that problem, though (he was on the radio).
The wife is only a couple years younger than I am, and she carried a Roy Rogers lunchbox. Big fan of Roy and Dale, and Cisco and Pancho.
