Does anyone know or have had opportunities to talk with any outdoors celebs like Toxey Haas with Mossy Oak, Will Primos, (Woody of Hunting Indiana ) or any other noted outdoor people? Bout the only person I've met on several occasions and chatted and had lunch with is New Hampshire native Bill Ruger Jr. thru a friend of mine. I've always wanted to meet the Wensel brothers.

Sat across the aisle from David Morris on a flight to Alberta deer hunting. Neat guy, fun to talk to, and man did he have a photo album to show off. The whole plane was full of deer hunters.
Attended Gene Wensel seminars a couple times and was able to visit with him for a couple minutes. He does great seminars, if you ever get the chance.
Miles Keller was at a bow shop one time when I stopped in, and visited with him for a few minutes.
Have hunted with some top notch outfitters in Alaska who you regularlly see big shot celebrities hunting with. Hunted sheep w/ Terry Overly, watched Michael Waddell moose hunting with him Sunday night on Real Tree road trips. Hunted caribou and bear w/ Curly Warren, watched Czonka hunting and fishing with him on TV.
The hunting fraternity is actually a fairly small world compared to other sports. It's not that unusual to bump into celebs.

I met good ole Wilber and talked with him at his booth during NWTF show in Ohio. Was kind enough to spend several minutes just chatting. I think the only reason he talked as long as he did was the fact that my wife was standing next to me. The same show I talked briefly with Toxey during the calling championship. Just enough to shake hands and introduce myself and talk for 30 seconds or so. Both seemed really down to earth for as big as they are in the world of hunting. Must not have made much of an impression on either because they weren't inviting me to be in the next video. Maybe I should have let my wife talk to them?

Oh, I haven't met the famous Woody Williams....yet. I'm hoping on one of my trips to Gibson or Pike County this winter, i'll be lucky enough to actually meet the guy. I honestly don't think he is a real person. If I do i'll try to get his autograph and a picture to show you guys.

I know Myles Keller fairly well.
A friend of mine was the national sales manager for XI (Indian Industries) and he called me one day. He asked "Do you know anything about a bowhunter named Myles Keller?"
I told him that I had heard of him and had read an article about him.
He said," How would you like to have dinner with him and I tonight"?
No problem.
We ate tavern food (fiddlers) at a local tavern and talked hunting.
The next day my friend told me they were considering hiring Myles as a Pro hunter for them and asked me what I thought. I told him he had a genuine diamond in the rough and he hired Myles the next day.
We did a lot of shows with Myles..
Myles had a great realationship with XI until XI folded.
I spent a week bear hunting with Myles and some others from XI. We didn't kill any bears but had a great time.
Myles is a down to earth guy that would rather hear about you killing a small 8 pointer than him talk about his whoppers.
I’ve been good friends with John Trout Jr. (outdoor writer) for as long as I have deer hunted. He will be coming over from Illinois (where he lives now) to hunt fall turkeys with me Wednesday.
"Woody Williams"?? Never heard of him...

The difference between this site and some of the others I have seen is...... RESPONSIBLE LEADERSHIP!!!!!! What does that have to do with meeting celebrities?? Some of the most popular (and respected) celebrities have gained notoriety by their "responsible" behavior and love for the outdoors and shooting sports. So when someone meets you Woody, they have at least met a "local" celebrity. Thanks for what you have done here and what you continue to do for the sport and the future of hunting in Indiana. I used to eat lunch in the company (Star-News) cafeteria with "Bayou Bill" Scifres , before I had to get a REAL job. I don't know how much of a celebrity he is, but I still enjoy reading him.
