So on the basis on disagreeing with you all on one issue (and being on the pro-oppurtunity side at that), someone who goes out of there way to promote ALL HUNTING is now a villain?

He has the right to say anything he wants and I have the right not make sure none of my money gets in his pocket. High fence shooting is not hunting and should not be supported by those claiming to be hunters.

Uncle Ted is very outspoken about a lot of things. It's his cup of tea to hunt high fences, but it isn't mine. I dont think his call to boycott Indiana hunting will swing much weight. Who does he think he is Bill O'Reilly? However, I don't see many Nuge fans being swayed by the Indiana hunters call to boycott a Nuge concert either. It just sounds like a lot of blustering back and forth with no change at all. Just Rock and Roll and hunting as usual..

I certainly don't agree with his "high fence hunting"........ but I will still go to his kick a$$ concerts........... he still ROCKS unlike a lot of old "rock and roll" bands these days.

Still no link?
Can't find anything about a "boycott" on any of his sites.
Sounds like a misunderstanding to me.

I don't think Ted is "out there' any more than the NUTS that want to take away our guns and the NUT JOBS that would take human life to save a animals life.
We do have enemies, but Ted aint one em.

Ted is by far the most controversial person in hunting today.
Most people either love him or hate him.
He does a lot of good, but there are times when we scratch our heads and ask "Is he worth it"?
I have seen him literally take some animal rights people apart bit by bit and leave them flabbergasted. He made Bill Maurer(sp?) look like the buffoon he is.
I don't agree with him on the baiting deer ( I have baited bears) and high fence, but that is his opinion vs mine.
I can disagree with Ted on those two issues and support the other issues such as the 2nd and the NRA.
I don't agree with everything Bush has done either, but I'd vote for him again againts any of the Dems that are out there.
So, I guess sometimes we might have to take the bitter with the sweet..

Right on. Ted is hunting's "weird uncle". I don't like his music, his support of high fences and his support of baiting BUT I will agree with him on just about everything else. Is there ever anyone that we agree with 100% except ourselves? Some time I even question myself. I have been around enough of these "Ted Debates" on a couple of other sites and they are very self destructive. No one will change their minds on Ted. His followers are loyal to the bone and his distractors are dead set against him. The only way for this thread to go is downhill. By reading a couple of posts on it now that slide has already started to happen. Let's do ourselves a favor and drop the subject.

Ted is pro opportunity PERIOD! He strikes a nerve when he points out that it is the self-righteous holier than thou hunters who try to ban everything they do not personally participate in that are the biggest threat to hunting. Tear him down if it makes you feel good to do so, but reading many of the posts on this site and especially the other site, it is very difficult to disagree with him on that point.

Baiting is perfectly legal in some areas of the country. In Texas, I don't think your allowed to hunt, unless it's behind a fence. Some states allow folks to hunt deer with dogs. Regulations are a little different everywhere.

Regulations are a little different everywhere. That is an incorrect statement on Texas. A large majority of hunting in Texas is wide open. "Regulations" are put into place in each state according to: 1) Safety 2) The resource 3) The ethical standards of the majority of resident hunters. I think that pbr hit the nauil on the head on this thread. It is going nowhere FAST..

And that is a shame since it was started just to let people know they could see a concert if they chose.
