If there was a new law passed tommorrow that said each American could only purchase 2 more firearms in his or her lifetime, what would you choose? Explain why...

I would immediately do everything possible to change such a law. Failing that I would use my two purchases on a bolt action rifle in .375 H&H mag. and a Springfield Armory SOCOM 16. I would get a .375 H&H to hunt Africa and for the largest game animals here. I find myself somewhat disquieted by the notion that this scenario is becoming increasingly probable .  I would also fight fiercely to keep such a law from even being considered , much less implemented .  Failing that I would choose a Kalashnikov AK-47 with sniper barrel for my cartridge based weapon choice since I might need a self defense weapon that mandated reliability , ease of use/care , and availability of both the weapon and it's ammo . The ubiquitous AK fills that niche in all respects . My choice for a non-cartridge based weapon would be a flintlock Hawken BP rifle since I could cast my own ammo from any lead source , and would not have to rely on percussion caps . We have major flint deposits down here , I can learn to knap some if needed . In a pinch gunpowder could also be improvised if supplies were eliminated . |

Probably something in military grade & caliber. Plenty of military surplus available.

Buy two high capacity rifles such as the
AR 15 and ruger 10/22 in .22 maguman.
Then buys as many as I could afford on the black market. ;D
