"This has nothing to do with hunting. This is an elk ranch a couple miles from me. The big boys were near the road today and I had my camera so I snapped a few.
THERE IS NO SHOOTING DONE HERE.
These are a farm crop and are raised for the antlers and meat. They even have a meat packing plant on the place. They'll be sawing the antlers off in a few days as
the rut will start about Labor Day. In a closed pen like this, the bulls will literally kill each other if they have antlers when the rut starts.
They've already started bugling so the action isn't far away."
