So now we go back to losing time ( daylight) in the woods . I would think us sportsmen would have enough numbers To get this changed within our state government!! I have sent numerous communications to our government to get this changed . Sorry for the rant but life is short .

Yeah. Not a fan either. Not sure why we change times anyway. I understand why Indiana changed just so it is easier to do biz but everyone would benefit from keeping same time all year. Changing it up 2x/yr just messes with schedules like sleep, eat, hunting!

Even more confusing in our house. We are just over the county line. Wife and kid are on central time where we live, but I stay on eastern time where I came from and work in. My buddies are mostly on central, so coordinating stuff is fun. Talk about a mess.

I agree, I think it's just flat out stupid. What are we saving? Not a durn thing. (but I prefer Central time.....) I wish the state would either go to one time zone or the other, not have it split up county by county.

And it ain't a big house! We figured out how to lock the tz feature after some confusion. I hate the central time in the winter. Getting dark at 430 pm is hard on a guy

Not to be that guy, but...
You're not losing any time. Sleep, yes if you stay on same schedule, but not any time. There are the same amount of hours in the day. No matter how you look at it, there are 24 hours. My ex and I use to argue about this every year how we lose an hour. Try to explain that no, there are still 24 hours.
Btw. I also hate daylight savings time.

In reality. Today is 25 hours long. We went through one hour twice. It’s all still dumb to me.

I only mind it in the spring - when it sets everyone's internal clocks off by an hour... Business and work is really the only reason we have it. Believe me - there's a whole to-do in the amateur astronomy community about it too. We don't like it because we lose nighttime observing time in the summer. And because of our hobby, many of us DO lose a few extra hours of sleep when the clocks set back! For me, during the fall, I can easily adapt to the new time in the morning. In the evening, well, just basically set all your chores back an hour. In the spring, I'm feeling terrible for a few weeks after the time change because somethings require getting up extra early.
Our internal clocks are based on sunrise and sunset - we physically aren't made to get up when the business world and modern clocks say we need to get up.

I don’t disagree about there is still 24 hours a day . I just don’t want to lose the hour of hunting time when it changes. A lot of people are on fixed schedules with work & can’t adjust that hour back in . Retirement is getting closer by the day & won’t give 2 cents what they do

Actually, you are free to run on whatever time you care to run your life on.

The time change along with the short daylight makes it hard to get an afterwork hunt in as my spots are about an hour away from home

Changing it up 2x/yr just messes with schedules like sleep, eat, hunting! The guy I sat next to at work would not change the time on his wall clock. It had a small "Ditch Mitch" sticker right in the center of it. It was said it would help companies doing business on the east coast. I was working for a company that did business around the world at the time. So some help. However last night or this morning my grandaughter woke at 1:30. My daughter got up to deal with her. Fresh diaper and a little milk did not help her. I was tagged as my daughter needed to get up for work early. I fussed with my g-daughter finally putting her back down in her crib and covering her up around 1:20. So in the end I got 10 minutes extra sleep.

I drive to the east for work and now the sun is just high enough to blind you. I'm sure the wrecks will be up for a couple weeks and then back after the winter solstice. I wonder how many road kills there are from the time change.

I wonder how many road kills there are from the time change. Wrecks are already up... A classmate of mine said there were a lot of wrecks around Halloween. The time change and the sun's altitude at certain times of the day certainly doesn't help.

The night is dragging bad. It WAS dark at 7pm, now it's dark at 6pm. So using that as a reference mark to pace my night. Uuuggghhhhh!
