Text for the Day -- Job 36:24-30 ---------- Remember to extol his work, of which mortals have sung. All people have looked on it; everyone watches it from far away. Surely God is great, and we do not know him; the number of his years is unsearchable. For he draws up the drops of water; he distils his mist in rain, which the skies pour down and drop upon mortals abundantly. Can anyone understand the spreading of the clouds, the thunderings of his pavilion? See, he scatters his lightning around him and covers the roots of the sea.
Devotional ---------- Our problem is not that we overestimate God. Rather, we underestimate God. This is probably why we are not conscious of God all the time. Most of the time our life is under our own control. Our reaction to life is understood in terms of strength, capabilities, and abilities to manage on our own. But, our help is truly in the name of the Lord. God is Lord of all creation, all life, and all that exists. God is beyond all and above all and yet, in the midst of everything that is happening to you. How might you live more moments consciously aware of God?
Prayer -------- Keep me from overestimating myself, Lord, and underestimating you. Amen
