I have one more week before the knife! Next Monday the 16th. I have all the hunting pre-stuff and beekeeping work finished for now. I'm hoping around the 3 to 4th week after, I can shoot the bow so I'm ready late October/early November. On beekeeping, I just need to put shims on each hive and put sugar bricks on. Schedule: 2 hrs. before surgery, 1 hour surgery, 2-3 hours recovery. Recovery requirement: lift up left leg, then one step up and turn around and down all with assistance. Then go to bathroom. Then I'll be released. Nerve blocker should last to Tuesday afternoon. Then the real pain starts. Hopefully, the pain meds work. Coming off a hip replacement surgery on August 13th. Pain is still a problem, but it’s getting better. I’m off pain meds because of the side effects, hang in there and do your exercises they give you. Hopefully I’ll be in a climber on October 1st. Good luck October 1st. I hope to read you took a big one.

The knee replacement is going well. I have good movement already. Goal is near 0 to 120 degrees. Today 9 to 100. PT tomorrow at 10am. All the knee wrapping limited movements. So far no issues. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. imgur.com/gallery/ifTrfLG

Glad you’re doing well! PT may not be much fun, but hang in there.

Everything is going okay. 2nd day afterwards. Stiffness is setting in. Normal. All I wanted to do today is sleep. Did my 2 PT's yesterday and today. Icing now. 10th time. Next PT visit is Friday morning. Motion pulled back today from stiffness. Around 0 to 90 degrees. Therapist informed me not to push degrees until next week. Swelling is #1

Each day it's getting better. Had PT this morning and 110 degrees. Not near as much swelling. PT was able to move my knee cap. A very good sign. He stated movement range shouldn't be an issue. All good news. The bandage stuff comes off next Thursday.

Everything is moving along well. I'm now 8 days post surgery today and my motion is 0- 120 degrees. Maximum is 0 - 135 degrees. PT goal is 125 degrees. Now doing mini squats and this is not easy and painful. Hurting a little today from PT. I go back on Thursday the 26th. I have a new set of PT exercises that started today. Mini-squats is one of them. The only other is my calf muscle. Before surgery this muscle didn't get used since I didn't walk normal. Now I am using it walking better and it getting used a lot more. It likes to get very tight and knotty.

All is good with my new knee. Very close to full motion. Biggest part forward is rebuilding the muscles that I haven't used by not walking correctly the past few years. By late October hunting will be no issue. So glad I did it. I walked about a half mile yesterday.

I started with cortisone, but didn't help that much. Then jell shots and after 3rd shot I got almost 2 weeks with no pain. That's when I decided for replacement. I already knew I was bone to bone. Hope the shots help!

Today is the 2nd week and each day getting stronger and better. I'm sure in two more weeks I'll able to walk the woods, climb ladders and hunt close to little pain or no pain. Just in time for the best weeks just ahead. Thanks for all the prayers. I'm close to past for any infections and or blood clots. No sign of either as of today. I've been taking couple 100-200 yard walks the last few days. Going to try to walk 1/3rd mile later this week when the sun comes out.

I got to through a shop that makes the fixtures to cut the knees and locate the screw holes. It looked like a simple slap jig. They were doing with for Zimmer or Depew.

I just got home from PT and great news. I'm at full motion which is 0-125 degrees. Max is 135 degrees. PT goal is 125 degrees. The rest of the PT's will be leg/knee strengthening. My new knee will be better than last years hunting knee. I hope to get the bow out later this week and make sure the crossbow is zeroed in. I'll be ready for the 28th and beyond.

If today was November 1st, I could hunt. I walked half mile today. October 30th will be 6 weeks post surgery. There should be no issues or much pain by then. All is going well and pushing myself with the PT exercises. I plan to keep doing two exercises. Balancing on one leg for 15 seconds and doing full squats against a wall. I find these two are best as I get older. Up and down and balance.
