I have always owned and shot Mossberg shotguns with no problem. Now, I have a new .12 ga 28" I bought for spot shoots and it had to go back because it wont rack to eject a spent shell.
Lot of Mossberg stories lately - I wonder if something is going on with them? When I get it back I am trading for a Benelli.

Well, I got the new piston and it's installed.
I took 3 different brands, weights, size and lengths out back. I fired 3 rounds of each. The gun functioned perfectly. Cycled fast, no feed issues and ejected the rounds without hesitation.
Now, do I really want to part ways with it or, consider the gun fixed with the new piston. Still not sure what exactly was wrong with the other piston but, I had no problems this morning with the new one installed.

I'd say try it and see how it functions. If it fails again, it's time to find it a new home.
