Get those clothes treated for ticks. I was out doing a woodcock survey last night. Probably stepped off the road at 2 of 10 locations.
Covered with ticks. I could feel them crawling on my legs. Spent better part of 40 min picking them off and got home to shower had probably 10 more. Most were the seed ticks but had some full sized bass turds too.
Going to spray my gear down today. Probably reapply a day or 2 before I go out again.
That red meat disease would be rough on me!

And this is why crappie fishing is better than turkey hunting. No season and no freaking ticks!

I will say that since I started using permethrin, I haven't even seen a tick mushroom hunting, turkey hunting, or squirrel hunting. That crap works! And thanks to someone on here that suggested getting the concentrate from Tractor Supply!!

I got the 10% and diluted it. I'll look for the dilution ratio. 2 liters of water and 100 ml of 10% permethrin. Either soak clothes and hang to dry or spray heavy enough to soak the material. 67.5 oz of water and 3.3 oz of 10% permethrin for us uncouth heathen Imperical folks. 😁

I bought a box of 36% on line once years ago when the TS near me quit selling it. I'll put an eye dropper or two in a spray bottle and use it on pants, boots, hats all summer. So long as the mix still looks milky when you shake it up, it is strong enough.

I got 32 oz of 36.8% for $35. Had a gallon of distilled water in the garage but say that was $1.
Made 1 gallon of 0.5% for $2.86
1.7 oz of the concentrate so so that should be 18 to 19 gallons. Or in metric...who cares! Nerds can check my work!
Thanks for the tip omega. I owe you a crappie trip this summer

Caleb still has a tag, I treat everything we wear except underwear. Neither Caleb nor I have seen a tick on us so far. I hope it stays that way!

Just put an eye dropper in and shake it. If it turns the water white after shaken, it is enough. If you question it, put in another eye dropper.
You aren't wearing these cloths while they are soaking wet are you? Letting it DRY first? So the water is literally GONE. If it is white when you spray it on, they there is protection where you spray it. Permethrin is BOTH an insecticide AND a repellant. Spray a spider and if he doesn't care, then you need more in what ever size water you are using. When you are happy, write it on the bottle.
No math required.

Rural King sells this for $18.99. I bought this on advice of my allergist to spray down my clothes before going in the woods.

Hunted Big Oaks today and found several Lone Star ticks crawling on our pant legs but all finally got wobbly and fell to the ground after being exposed to the Permethrin. It definitely works.

Especially if I'm handling mouth calls or the facemask gets wet.
