My buddy and I just got 7 cameras hung and a few spots cut out and ready for the 24th of April. We saw a couple turkeys while we were out here too.

I’ll start thinking about it a little harder after we get back from vacation. A buddy did literally just send this to me, which is out a window in his house.

I honestly have been so focused on trying get ready for next waterfowl season, I hadn't really even considered turkey season yet. However, getting out there this afternoon has really got me turkey focused.
I usually put out a couple ground blinds but, I didn't this year. I have two set up in back pack carriers ready to roll though if the situation calms for it. Daphne surprised me this evening and told me she wants to get her own turkey this year and wants a tag! SUPER excited about that possibility!

That’s so cool she wants to go. Good luck to the both of you, but if she gets one you’ll be just as fired up or more than if it was your own.

I'm looking forward to this season. I'm gonna give it all out heck, run and gun, be more mobile, and try to get us both opportunities.

I wanna hunt this spring however gotta see how some things hash out... Criminal neighbor issues at home and the guy living with the neighbor's wife right now is also rather shady. Our stuff is rather scattered around right now. And I will not be gun hunting. Tried to take apart the shotgun for extra cleaning and foolishly took out a screw I shouldn't have then mistook another screw for it and now the thread is all messed up, can't get the screw all the way back in so gotta take the gun to a gunsmith. Gonna crossbow hunt if/when I do (personally I'm enjoying the crossbow a lot). Went to my friends' place pick up some stuff for an event the other day and there was a nice tom in the woods just on the side of the creek near the road, so that got me excited. Now that tom might become turkey dinner...... If he's the one that walks in front of me while I'm hunting. Discovered last spring that wild turkey sure tastes far better than the store-bought meat.

Where are you at? I have a set of taps from Brownells that are for the sizes of screws that are typically found in firearms, a set of dial calipers and a thread pitch gauge set. www.brownells.com/tools-cleaning/general-gunsmith-tools/taps-dies/drill--tap-kit-no.-2/Then if the screw is boogered up, you can buy a new screw once the threads in the gun are cleaned up.

We are near Independence in Warren County. I've thought about taking the gun to a local gunsmith. Coyote Moon Gunworks is within a 10 minute drive of here.

Been getting pictures on a regular basis....they are about 100 yards from the field where I'll have my blind. Hope the pattern continues.

I’ve got 2 mature Tom’s and a Jake along with several hens we been seeing every day. One Tom has a thick long beard the other mature Tom has a bit thinner long beard. They are going to be our targets obviously. My daughter will get first crack for youth season so hopefully we can kill one.

Esshup I'd like to but its a pretty steep slope and last year the birds were roosted pretty close to where the pictures are. Afraid I'd bust em off the roost plus and fortunately we have no trespassing issues so I'll start in the blind and run/gun that way if needed. I ended up shooting last year's bird around the corner behind them.

Heard some gobbling from the deck this AM. When we left the house at 0800 there were 3 longbeards, 4 jakes, and 1 hen hanging between my property and the neighbors fields.
