Forgot about "Freak". Walked by stand at 10' in rain. My bow was on hanger. Lol. When I reached for it he stopped and stared at me. Walked off without getting a shot. Another neighbor killed 2 weeks later with messed up side broken off. One that got away...

Fortunately I was able to harvest the largest I've seen in the field. I had found some huge rubs and quite a bit of sign. 1991 so before kids. Showing my age here but sat in a heavier than sh*& Amacker set and climb. Sat in that durn thing every day from daylight til dark (except for heading in for lunch a couple days) Got him on the second Saturday of gun season with an 870 pump. No way could I set on that thing for that long today. Net was 159 and change. Nearly fell out of the stand when I saw him. Legs wouldn't work when I tried to get down! I'd a been a funny sight to see! Heck of a nice deer and I really like the picture. It looks like it could have been an ad for the clothing or the shotgun back in the day.

I’ve seen big deer where I hunt in the river bottoms. Saw one a few years back that I couldn’t get a bow shot on and never saw him again. I do not have any cameras at this woods because I want to be surprised. Biggest one I’ve killed was scored by my taxidermist at 186 and some change. That's a pretty big deer by today's standards for most hunters. Here’s a look.

I got these two pics of this deer in December of 2019. No other pics. Never saw him in person. And these were the only two pics I ever got of him. The pics were on a little 16 acre swamp in the middle of huge corn fields. Not the highest scoring deer ive ever seen but definitely the most impressive typical frame deer I’ve ever personally gotten a picture of or seen.

Back in 2017, I had this buck on camera in Perry county. Never saw him in person. In velvet here.

Had a chance at a b/c. He went right through shooting lane. He then stood outta bow range for about a 1/2 till it got dark enough to enter field. Guy down road got him couple days later. He was over 170. Ugh….

My biggest is last years archery kill . Grossed 185 6/8 net 177 3/8 non typical 15 points. Back in 2013 from the truck seat . I seen a typical 6x6 standing on the magazine at Crane . I know he would have went 200 inches. Hunted him hard but never seen him in the stand.

Nice! Are those warm weather clothes? My dad has lightweight hunting pants with that exact same pattern. I've been using them to hunt the warm weather months. I believe they were insulated coveralls....circa 1991!
