Finally add an 8pt for team #9. Wow it has been a tough season but I enjoyed all th time in the woods. I need to make some adjustments to stand laocations for next yr. I think I was going in to deep in the property and will be better off hunting more of the fringes. Shot this one on a stand pretty close to the rd. Congratulations on sticking it out during your rough season!! Well done teammate!! |

It only takes a second to turn it all around, and you proved that! Congrats!!! If it weren't for my awesome opening weekend, I would have been blanked so far. I plan ahead and give it everything I got for the first couple days of gun so my time is profitable. |

Well, I blanked last evening. Pulled trail cam cards and saw movement from 7am to 7:15 am then again on the 16th from 4pm until 4am. WAY more nocturnal movement than daytime movement.

I believe this is the furthest accurate shot I've taken with my muzzleloader. She was standing near some deadfall that I knew was about 80 yards away, and my gun is sighted to be dead-accurate at 50 yards. Last time I shot more than 50 yards was years ago. My first doe back in 2014 was roughly 70-75 yards, and I took a pot shot that same year at a doe that was 100 yards away (bad idea; I learned a good lesson that time). |

The next day my dad took it and went to the same stand. If the 8 pt buck hadn't been right on the property line he could've made a similar shot on him. |

I just counted and of the 50 hunters in the contest we killed 82 . I think that’s pretty good!
