Had 8 deer on the food plot tonight. A nice tall 8 that I’d guess at 3 years old I let walk. This is him: Dang boys, the standards are set pretty high!

Be sure to check your pockets. Lol! I washed both my warm and cold weather camo, and loaded them in the dryer. About a half hour later I went into the dining room and heard the loudest banging from the laundry room! Above is what I found rattling around in the dryer. They were very hot to the touch! All the exposed lead tips on the .260 rounds were flattened to the copper.

What's the thing between cartridge #2 and #3 on the right side of the picture?

On the way home from the football game tonight we saw a really nice buck chasing 2 does at top speed. They crossed the road right in front of us. The buck totally wiped out and skidded chin down all the way across the road. He regained his footing once he hit grass. We all saw it. He was at least a 150" buck and it was only half a mile from the house. If we shoot a big one in the morning we will be checking under the chin for road rash.

That's a Hankins primer module. Case head size of 45/70 for the break open SML. Yep, that's exactly what it is. And the primer was live, or at least was until it soaked in the washing machine. The three speedloaders were empty when found, so who knows where the powder ended up? What's funny is that I was looking for my good hunting flashlight the other day, and I could have sworn I checked all my camo pockets. Apparently I didn't. Lol!

Really noticed a uptick in buck movement yday in SE IN. Headed out shortly. (Best of luck to everyone.) All the hard work we put in throughout the year waiting on "PRIME TIME". It's here.

First sit of the year. I'm in the worst tree known to man -- crooked, too close to where I anticipate the shot, facing the wrong way, etc. I'm sweating. My advice to everyone -- plan ahead, don't try to find a tree for your climber in the dark on the morning you plan to hunt. And did I mention that this crossbow weighs a ton? I don't know how you guys pack them around!
