Gonna give it a little while here on the farm this morning before I have to haul firewood and get ready to go to a travel softball tournament with my daughter this evening. Firewood can wait if the bucks are on their feet, LOL.

Starting vacation after work today. I think this may be the slowest workday in history 🤦🏻♂️.

First day out this year, been a busy October. First time in 11 years I didn’t hunt a single day in October. On the plus side, I’ve had a lot of really good bucks show up on cams, might not be a bad strategy going forward

I agree 100 percent. Yesterday was my first day out except the Big Oaks draw hunt last week with Spam.

First sit of the season.
Super nice morning.
Half moon gave plenty of light walking in.
Getting old.. 1/4 mile walk in I stopped twice to catch my breath…
No “deers” yet..

Got in 45 minutes before legal. Good wind cover let me get in quiet. I’ve had a button buck come in so far. Gonna try to get a lot of hours in the stand today. Good luck to all.

Scrub I hope that your clot goes away. I have had mine and been on blood thinners for 10 years. I do get blood flow around it so doctors won’t do anything about it. The only thing that is bad about it is that my leg swells, and I had to have a filter put in to have my knee replacement surgery. It does help if you put your leg up on the back of the couch while you are laying down on it. Thanks for the advice. The pain is a little better this morning. I'm hoping I caught it early enough to dissolve it. With my families history of clots I knew what to watch for. My grandfather passed away from a clot that broke loose after a surgery. I got one in my calf 26 years ago, was out riding my mule for 6 hours is what caused it. I was in the hospital for a week, they wouldn't even let me out of bed to go to the restroom. Since then I've gotten cellulitis probably 7 time's in that leg, each time my stay in the hospital gets longer and longer. Be careful with it Scrub.

Now with a longer drive to hunt, age, a job full of stress and physical requirements, and family responsibilities, I really gotta be selective with my time in the stand.

It's feeling a little better today. I'm trying to take it easy but I've been doing that for the last week and I'm getting stir crazy. I'm back at work today. They offered to let me sit at a desk all day but I declined.
I just got a text saying my dad shot a buck this morning. No more info yet.

Just watched a small 8 try to breed a doe twice… she was unamused. I’ve seen 6 does and the one buck so far.

Slow so far, just a lone spike. It’s that time of year where it can change in a flash, come on cruising bucks

Pretty active morning so far passed on a 120 class 10, fork horn and a young 8. All seemed to be looking for love nose to ground past stand at 10 yds., hunting near 1 of Crazy Brows bedrooms, hoping to cross paths with him. Be out till 11.

I was setup on my other ladderstand around 7:20 and a big 0 so far. This stand is getting moved after season. I'm about 100 yards from coyote den. 3rd time hunting there and 0 deer seen. There is a fresh dropping 10 yards away.
