Well, they're getting a little bigger. Seriously, where are the G4's? Lol! I'm getting decent buck movement the last couple of days, but 100% at night. Not a single doe on camera. Granted, I only have one camera out.

Good wind for 1 of my better sets. (It has produced 6 bucks 130+ over years.) Don't hunt it often , oak ridge funnel very close to bedding cover.

My brother yesterday saw 9 does but none in range or open enough to shot. I'm at work and heading down either tonight or before light in the morning. My mother and law is not good and might have to help my wife tonight.

I'm just not having much luck finding time to hunt this year. I switched to a Monday-Friday position at work this summer. I had been on a 2-3 schedule for 20 years. I used to have 3 or 4 days off a week to hunt. I had surgery last week on both legs. I'm having complications from that and from a ladder sliding out from under me at work Tuesday. I was hoping to hunt this weekend. We are seeing bucks around the house during the day so it would be nice to be able to get in the woods.

Don't over do it and rush the process. The deer aren't going anywhere.

Practicing in the backyard. After the first shot I saw this gal in the wooded area about 20 yards behind my target. She is safe..

I hold off shooting does around my house until later season when I don't get that Indiana doe like last year. I had 7 of them in my front yard yesterday.

In the ER with a blood clot in my leg. I'm supposed to limit my physical activity. The doctor said no jumping or jogging. He didn't say no climbing trees or walking through the woods. I'll assume I can still hunt this weekend.

Climbing and hunting does not comply with "limit my physical activity". Now walking short and easily to a box blind might work. Take care of yourself, there's only one of you.

I can get dropped off and picked up at a short ladder stand. I won't be able to drag one if anybody gets a deer. I love following a blood trail so it will be hard to skip that.

Had a good hunt this morning. At daylight a small 8 point came through, nose to the ground. Then at about 0930, two does and a fawn browsed their way to about 5 yards from the base of my tree stand. Then, while they’re still hanging around, a procession of 9 does and fawns came past single file. I had to get down at 10 to go to work.
The property surrounding me has new leaseholders this year, I’m guessing they bumped the big group my way.
I’m heading back out there tonight, with all these does as bait there’s gotta be a few more bucks around.
