FWIW I've seen plenty of instances where they don't sign in.

And deer season #45 begins. Best of luck to everyone. Shoot straight and hunt safe. It’s either 53-54 for me. Can’t remember if I was 11 or 12.

I took a vacation day for tomorrow, but might change that and shoot for next Monday providing I don't have to do that dirty 4 letter word on Saturday and it just might be a better outcome since the A.M temps are going to be lower.

Bad shot stomach 100%. Not recovered tracked it off the property which is 300 yards. I learned alot. I was too excited walked left to right to was aiming its right shoulder behind it didn't follow threw pulled the shot left to its guts. I feel bad but these deer didn't run off just walked away never knew I was there..
Be patient, follow threw.

Learn from the situation and move forward. Better luck the remainder of the season.

Wily old queen mama does! They sure seem to know the gig! I had a nice big ole Nanny and she, along with others, fed in the beans just 25-30 yards away. She just would not step out from the branches. At one point I had the crosshairs of the crossbow on her right front hock but she was too quartered to me with a marginal pocket in the branches. Just too risky so I watched as she slowly made a U-turn and was back in the woods with the rest of her gang.

I’m getting fed up with two posters that insist on taking pot shots at each other.
You guys either take it to private messages or another site or a hammer will drop if you choose to continue in the open forum.
I’m tired of it. And don’t go messaging me saying “he said this and he said that”. Like I said - I’m tired of it.
I’m a patient man but it’s worn thin .

Sitting in a spot I don’t really want to be in, but……it’s a stupid East wind, hot, crops still in and I’m not going to a good spot this early in the season!! The adjoining farmer is running beans so we’ll see what happens. Feels good to be back out!!!

Your not the only person who has done that, and I can almost guarantee that you won't be the last. Patience is key, and still a lot of time left in the saddle.

I'd say with a fair amount of confidence that those who say it's never happened to them have never bow hunted or they're telling a fib. Hang in there....bet you'll get several more chances.

Highcotton u made the right choice. Its the first day Thanks! And like so many on here know, it just feels great to be out for the opener! The older I get, the more I'm fine just being a deer watcher. Don't get me wrong. I have no problem pulling the trigger on Queenie or Brutus at the right moment. And I have no problem letting them walk!

Here's my opinion: I have a ton of firewood work I have been busy with and my youngest daughter is playing volleyball (this is the last week of that) and travel softball (that's getting ready to heat up). I didn't hunt today, but I am planning on Friday evening,if the weather cooperates. I killed one of my biggest bucks- 165"+ on October 1st 2011. The weather was perfect and I had ALMOST zero chance of hurting my future hunting, that being said,FAR MORE mature bucks are educated than killed on opening day of archery season. It's only going to get better from here on, shoot straight and be safe!

Planning on going to Sugar Ridge in the morning with a cooler full of ice and very little expectations, but we're going to give it our all and that's all that matters to us. Just looking for a break on groceries. It really stinks when you go to the grocery and get to the checkout and your 1/2 full cart equals more than your mortgage payment does

Ended up seeing a doe and fawn twice and then as I was trying to sneak out before it was pitch black I take one step from my stand and there stands a spindly tined buck that was out to his ears staring at me. We had a 5 minute stare down before he decided he didn’t like me. Pretty decent sit for not expecting much.

Yes, a big fat doe could go past you tomorrow but your chances are waaaaayyyyy higher in November for that to happen. Like I said I don't know your work set up but if I had the option I think I'd wait.
