The 1 I poked was quartered hard from me and I was shaking like a leaf in a wild wind storm. I probably shouldn't have taken the shot, but I felt confident. I'm confused. Lol! Was she facing you or facing away? Facing me. I got extremely lucky. Thinking of buying a lottery ticket lol

I'm confused. Lol! Was she facing you or facing away? Facing me. I got extremely lucky. Thinking of buying a lottery ticket lol That clears it up. Lol! The reason I asked is that your post that I quoted earlier said "quartering from" but you meant "quartering to". Just take your time and wait for a good broadside shot. If it doesn't happen today, it will another day. Short of a survival situation, there's no rush to get a deer. It'll all fall into place when the time is right. I haven't even been out a single time yet this season, and know that I have all the time in the world. Good luck, and I hope you fill the freezer!

Saw around 45-50 deer on our trip to WV and back. Only seen a few small bucks. The uncle slipped up and blew a chance at a whopper on Wednesday. He was mad at himself for a rookie mistake and fixed the issue.
We only saw a couple road kills on the way down, but 20 plus on the ride home today, with 12 or 13 being small to medium racks. So, things are starting to heat up. My wife and MIL asked why so many bucks, and I said its heating up! Told them remember that next weekend starts the November month of "Hunters Divorce". Lol

Kid is on a roll, got his 1st buck in Indiana with a crossbow, now tonight his 1st doe tonight in Minnesota youth season. That little 44 has sure whacked a lot of firsts for kids over the years.

Just heard my little nephew shoot back on my food plot. I read this and wondered how you heard a bow shoot that far. Then I saw your other post and said DA! It is gun seasons IN MN. Haha

Hunted my place for the first time this season. Only saw does and fawns, but pulled a couple cards while I was out. Got my first shooter on camera since season opened. He was here on the 19th and 22nd, nighttime. I passed this buck last year and regretted it. He was a big 6 last year, he’s a 7 now.

Checked some cams over the weekend. Would sure like this guy to stroll by while I’m in the stand. He was in there a few different days.

I set up on the edge of a soybean field this morning and at about 815, I see a doe trotting in my general direction and behind her with his head down chasing was the biggest buck I’ve seen in the area. I left my binos on the truck so I couldn’t get a GREAT look, but I could tell by his body next to the doe he was chasing that he’s big. They stood around for about 10-15 minutes and then the chase was on again. They crossed 200 yards of cut soybeans in a flash and that doe couldn’t have had her tail tucked further under her and that buck couldn’t have been closer to her. I grunted twice just to see what would happen and that dude couldn’t have cared less. About 930 I go to step out of my blind and I catch the glint of an antler. This time they slipped in through a drainage ditch and disappeared in a little patch of woods by the railroad tracks. I’m assuming that’s where he beds. They didn’t get within 100 yards of me, but I’ve never watched the courtship routine before. Pretty cool to see.

I don’t know if you can see him, but that dude looked as majestic as they come out there in the sunshine.

I signed up, seems like it’s worth it sending lots more pictures that wouldn’t have seen otherwise.

I havent been out yet will probably get out later this week and weekend. My son has been out a few times. Been pretty slow at our place he has been seeing mostly does and a couple very small bucks. Cameras have been a little underwhelming so far as well. One borderline shooter and a few dinks. Hoping it flips any day and the new visitors start to show up and cruise the area. Still a lot of corn standing in the area too which isnt helping.
