Congratulations, guys! And glad you're back in action, Woody. I'm sitting this morning out for multiple reasons. I'm taking the wife out for Thanksgiving dinner, so we need to beat the crowds. Secondly, the deer processor I use doesn't accept deer on Thanksgiving and I don't want to mess with hanging a buck in a sunny tree until tomorrow. Lastly, there are a couple of guys on Christmas Island this week playing on ham radio, and it's pretty rare to see that island on the air. Propagation between me and them only allows for a chance of contact in the mornings when I'm usually at work.
Enjoy your hunts today, and I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving Day!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I’m hunting my wife’s family farm in northern Indiana today. Got here about 45 min before first shot so I sat in the truck to stay warm for 20 min then headed out. Not used to this big open country and saw the daylight was already breaking the horizon well before first shot so I hurried along the tree line. As I was approaching what looked like a bedding area/funnel to open field I saw a big bodied deer run into the woods. Not entirely sure he saw me, I made the decision to go set up nearby. Well 10 minutes later this very large bodied buck was working through the tall grass and stepped into the field. As soon as he turned his head I decided he was big enough for me. 40 yard shot, he jumped and took about 5 steps and crashed, then I heard a large exhale, I knew he was expired already. Love this 350 legend. I’m going to keep sitting a little longer because the brother in law wants some deer meat. Congratulations 🦌

Thanks guy, both of his G2s are broken off. The largest bodied deer I’ve ever taken though. I’ll need to call backup to get him in the truck

Seen 2 does at 65 yards. Wind swirled and the biggest didn't like something. They split. Pretty sure I also seen my first bobcat.

Just finished a hunter inventory around the house......signigicantly less folks out there, 7 vehicles compared to 21 on opening day. Saw a couple of fellers setting in camp chairs about 50 feet off the road. In the area they are that, they've probably got just as good of a chance as walking way back in the woods. Good luck to all out there today and be safe.

Arrow was in it . Someone else shot it was healed over maybe from last year ? It was hard for me to tell where that is on the body? What some people call “no man’s land” 2-3” below spine

Got the news yesterday evening that a massive 7 pt was shot yesterday morning by a hunter who also has permission on the property I took my button buck and turkeys on. I think it's the big 7 I saw squirrel hunting a few weeks back. If so, that's the biggest buck taken off that property at least in the 12 years we've been friends with the owners.

Live from the Golden Corral line. Lol! I'd estimate the entire indoor/outdoor line to be 100 yards long. We're probably 20 yards from the front of the line now. I'm hungry. Lol!
