Okay, I know this topic can be touchy but, I still want so honest feedback. Not looking for arguments for whatever side you fall on.
I have a spot on my permission farm that seems get a lot of deer traffic. I have fought off the temptation to put a blind up in the area because I just feel that I can get busted easily. I know there's people out there that swear by the ozone units in your blinds. I just don't know enough about those units to make a decision. I know I will not pay that top dollar for a brand new one. I also know that I have had great success with the ozone closet I built at home. I don't use half of the scent killer sprays as I used to and I haven't been busted half as much either.
So, I'm really contemplating get an ozone unit for my blinds. Or, does nose jammer work well?
I know I need to keep the wind in my favor but, it just seems like I can get busted in this area no matter where the wind is coming from.

Exactly the response he was asking not to get. I don’t have any personal experience with them and don’t know anyone that does. There’s plenty that use them and swear by them though, so I’d think there has to be something to it.

I have a small unit for our house. There is an odor that is very pungent imo. The noise and odor seems to me would be more harm than good.

I have never seen the need for one.
However, to each his own, go for it if you don’t like it, sell it.

When thinking of cover scents or elimination I always think of a fresh pile of dog crap.
I can be upwind almost on top of it and not smell it. But if downwind I start gagging 15 ft away.
Now imagine mowing thick fresh grass and you smell onions, grass and mower exhaust. When you hit a fresh pile you still smell the piles.
I imagine the deer smell us same as a pile of dog crap.

A friend of mine has a fire and water restoration company for almost 30 years. He uses ozone to eliminate smoke odor from household things, furniture, clothes, etc. In order for him to do that it is a sealed off environment with ozone, temperature all being controlled for certain periods of time.
So when I see these product manufacturers saying they work great in an open tree or a blind with windows down and wind blowing through them, I have to really question the effectiveness of the product. No I do not have any experience with them and probably won't with what I have seen on how ozone is really used in the professional business world to eliminate odors.
There maybe people that swear by them and say they work, but good common sense goes a long way in the woods. Stay as scent free as you can and stay downwind as much as you can.

I've got one and used it some a year or so ago. I "think" it helped me on a couple occasions hunting a food plot where the wind tends to swirl.. Deer on the plot didn't seem as antsy when I used it. Thats the only place I used it.
But other than that I never gave it a fair shake test though.
I do religiously treat all my hunting clothes and pack in a tote with Ozone.

If you can afford it buy it and use it….some will never use the latest technology and that’s fine also!
Personally I believe any time you can “practice shooting”… that pays the best dividends! IMO
BTW …. When you shoot Bullwinkle make sure you post a pic with him and your new item 😊

Lol! I don't know if I'll get one. I have always been on the fence about their actual effectiveness. I think my best bet would to keep doing what I'm doing and avoid that spot. Maybe just edge a little closer to it.
I'm definitely planning on putting lots of rounds through my rifle this year.
Things are up in the air with my property behind the house . I still have the field but, the guy that was hunting turkeys in the woods now wants to hunt whitetails (seen that coming). I may just avoid the issue all together and put more focus on my main permission piece.

They do make one that mounts to your HVAC equipment for every day use and one that has UV lights with it myself I can’t tell a difference but have customers that swear by them and say they get rid of the smell in the home. Myself probably in my younger days I would of but I’m down to carrying very little to the stand or blind use to need two back packs a deer cart and maybe two trips for all the stuff I thought I needed, in my defense most of it was food water clothing I use to do all day sits often but anymore I just can’t take them my back and legs kill me when I do

I can only assume that company’s like Honeywell Lennox Trane to name just a few have spent millions if not more making sure they are safe if sized installed and maintained correctly. Doctors recommend them to people with bad allergies that’s normally were I sell them they are a bit on the pricey side we really don’t sell that many maybe 12 a year Not 100% but I believe they are used in hospitals in between surgery’s to kill germs in that room

Setting in a room while one is running has health hazards it seems. I say it all depends on what size your using for the space your in.I would definitely follow instructions for use in occupied spaces.

I have no opinion on the ozone, one thing I would suggest is put your setup out in the spot that you want to hunt and let some milkweed fibers go into the breeze, you might be surprised at what the terrain and trees will do to a steady wind. This might help you make a decision on what to do it, might even help you to decide to hunt this area on a completely opposite wind that you would think it would not work. Temperature humidity thermals wind direction in my opinion all play a part in scent control. Obviously there's nothing wrong in trying to fool them but knowing what the wind is doing after it leaves your immediate area will help in these situations I believe.
