As mentioned in the beekeeper blog, I've given away three swarms to semi new to new beekeepers. One with double bad luck, another that bought bees and arrived dead.

Wayne, good luck with the bees. Hopefully that situation gets better for you.

That's great Dave! Kiddos thrive when the folks are involved and interested and participate AND show up for things like that. Good on you guys for a wholesome upbringing.

You're doing a great job with your kids Dave! Kudos to you and them!
I see a lot of folks on here doing great things with/for their kids and over the years, it's been a pleasure to see how the kids have been molded and shaped into great young adults.

Congrats sir we sure need more parents like you raising kids then leavening up to the classroom peers tv or just on their own Don’t have kids but I’m the crazy uncle that never quits yelling Hopefully when I’m six foot under and they are older they will remember me as the uncle that tried to send them down the right path

With all the terrible stuff going on in the world today I’m starting this thread to show that positivity is still out there. Also more of a proud dad moment, but feel free to add whatever you want. First is going to be my daughter who throws shot put on the schools unified track team. For those that don’t know that is a track team for the kids with disabilities. Other kids, like my daughter, participate as well but it’s more about helping those kids get out and participate in school sports. All these track meets really show the good in humanity. Every person in the stands and all kids on the field cheer for each other, whether they are first or last. It’s super neat to watch. Here’s a series of pics of my daughter throwing last week. Then over the weekend my son was one of the lead roles in the schools musical of Mamma Mia. He worked really hard to memorize all his lines and the songs he had to sing, in which two of them were solo. We went to all four shows over the weekend and those kids all did a great job. It was an amazing performance every single time. Well said. I love it. Nothing better than seeing young men and women growing up into good people. I feel guilty with mine. They have made it easy on us so far. Lots to be proud of for sure.

Lots of driving today with unified track sectionals at Floyd central high school not far outside Louisville. Our school missed making regionals by one point, but it was a blast watching those kids this season and the new friendships our daughter made. Went from there to a graduation open house in Franklin for our friends son and then finally home a little after that. Now I’m sitting around the fire with an adult beverage watching some playoff hockey on my phone.

Man that is awesome! Congratulations to her and you guys for being there to support! A lot of kids don't have that.
My oldest son graduated 8th grade, our grade school goes from Pre-K to 8th, so he will be leaving the comforts of "home" for high school. He picked up some awards along the way. We are very proud of his work, his brother works just as hard and will be a 7th grader next year, and my baby girl will be a 1st grader! Hug 'em while they're little, they grow up fast!

Congrats scrub on raising a good one. What did she study?
My 1st born is graduating hs next weekend. She did very well in school, 6th out of 300+ students. Shake my head when I see how well she has done.
At same time told her today that Mom and I have met our obligation. 12 yrs of school and she is over 18. Time to move along little partner. Her restlessness, despite being out of school 1 week and working 40 hrs at 1 job plus 1 or 2 shifts a week at papa johns is getting the best of her which translates into being a jerk to the rest of us.
She going to PU this summer.

She was very easy to raise. She's basically acted like an adult since she was in middle school. She started touring colleges and had a 4 year plan going into high school. She followed through and got the Lilly Scholarship.
