Was supposed to go to a friends place to call for him this morning but last minute he says he doesn’t want to hunt in the rain, so I stayed up to 12:30 with my wife and daughter to watch a movie on tv and didn’t make it out. Here at my back window 20 minutes ago I watch that Tom with a short beard walk about 30 yds in front of my blind….good grief. Lol Never fails

Go get em guys, I’m hunting through you this morning. Went to my sister in law’s Sunday, she called Monday and said she had Covid. Well guess who feels like crap this morning! You probably got something from that ugly looking turkey you posted up the other day 😂

Well, couldn’t make anything happen where I was set up this morning. Took a ride over to the other part of my lease. Guess I should’ve spent more time there. There’s at least a dozen turkeys in the field. Probably four or five of them are gobblers. Unfortunately probably can’t hunt tomorrow due to another softball tournament.

Heard a 2nd gobble, but sounded like moving away. Nothing since.
Only got about half hour left. Then home and nap before work. Only half shift tonight, so back at it tomorrow morning.

Pulling the plug. Rain getting heavier, but it's not washing the sleepy dust out of my eyes, so heading home. Good luck boys.

Nice morning overcast calm 45 degrees and only a short walk to my blind.
Never heard or saw anything except a small black cat that walked by my blind and a "VERY NOISY" squirrel over my blind.

No rain here, got it all last night. One far off gobble early, called pretty aggressively and one flew in behind me (not sure if it was the one gobbling or not), on high alert for quite awhile but nothing. Tom came around the corner of the field but (like my deer grunt), he didn't pay a lick of attention to the decoys and kept walking. Thinking maybe he was the buddy of the one my son shot and thought "the hell with this, Joe got shot here on Wednesday" Two gobblers then came out below my house (I was hunting across the road of course), just the two of them and they gobbled their heads off. Finally couldn't take it anymore and decided to try and put a stalk on (wet and quiet). Long story short, was able to get in position due to their constant gobbling but then heard a hen, then another.....ah, the light went on and I saw 3 guys moving through the woods. The birds then come into the woods and starting moving....I'm in between those guys and the bird so I find a tree real quick to shield me. That durn bird walked within 40 yards and I held off......its stsate forest ground but I knew I would have been aggravated if someone was between myself and the bird (even though I didn't realize it)....anyway the ole boy kept going and never gave em a shot. Went and picked my neighbor up from his blind......less than an hour later this guy was cruising by the blind. Man, they just "know"

Had a hen in behind the blind, but she never came to the field.
Sun is out now and has warmed up nicely

Crazy how just one day flips a switch on these birds. Nothing yesterday and today was insane. Closed the distance on a roosted bird this morning at sunrise. He got about 60 and didn’t want to play, flew off the ridge into the bottoms. Had another encounter around 1030 and another intense one at noon. Gobbler was going off from the same ridge the one this morning was. I snuck up close and set up. Called back and forth then he went silent for about 15 minutes until his head pops up behind a downed log 20 yards in front of me! Couldn’t hear him coming because of all the rain this morning and I couldn’t move because he was staring in my direction looking for a hen. He moves back down the bench and out into the opening with another Tom! 2 big gobblers standing there at 65 yards. They eventually walked off, I tried calling them back but they just kept gobbling and walking away. Going to set up on this ridge to try and roost a bird tonight

I seen 8 Tom's fanned out on my ride home this morning. So there was nothing wrong with my setup, just no birds around. Luke and I will be trying again tomorrow.
