Well the turkeys won this season. I had him at 75 yards on Friday, but he followed her over the hill and out of my life. Hopefully next year will be better. I have a blind and another hunting property, but this year I wasn’t making the walk to try and get a turkey back there with my new knee.
Sorry team 3. We could have won this thing.

Nothing to be sorry about! It's all in good fun! I hope you either get one this fall or have better luck next year.

Congrats to all the turkey hunters this year and past. It was hard not hunting this spring, but how busy I was with my bee business it was a good thing.

Well. I certainly didn’t help my team at all (except call in my sons bird for him) but I feel really bad for woody and his team eating tag soup. That’s terrible. Well. That’s 2 springs in a row now I’m birdless, but I like to think it’s because I put my kids and this year my nephew in front so they can get their birds first. Congrats to the winners it all in fun. And thanks for doing this again this year woody. Appreciate the fun and comradery.
Now……for deer season. 😁

But, that's what it's all about for me now, to give the next generation all the opportunity I had and pass on knowledge and fun times.

Yup and knowing when they move on to do their own hunts I go back to hunting for ME. but I guess ultimately as long as we hunt together I’m gonna give him best chances.

I hunted the first three days with my grandson. He had the gun. I told him if two came in for him to shoot the first one that gave him a good shot and then hand the gun to me, then I’d drop the second bird. That never happened. In fact we never saw a gobbler and only heard one.
After that I pretty well hung it up.

I hunted 8 days during the season. Probably the most I’ve hunted in one spring and was still bird less. Still fun and frustrating chasing those dumb birds around the woods.

Funny. Literally the day after season the Tom’s all came back. I hadn’t seen them since my son killed his. The one bird I was interested in looked like he was fighting or run over by a car. Missing tons of feathers and all scruffled up. Out in the field the day after gobbling his fool head off…..about 30 yds from my blind. 😩

Seems odd I never had turkeys until a few years ago now I see them a lot still not a bunch but good numbers for here and you guys that had turkeys all this time didn’t see them or at least that’s I thought I understood reading theses post all the way from start of season to the end
I’m not complaining at all 3rd year they have been back here every year more and more of them hopefully they continue to grow in numbers again this year.

I have only had them on my farm for about 10 years. I can still remember when I saw the first one here.

We've had them on the farm before 2003.
