My former boss and good friend that now lives in Texas stopped by the house this morning. He was coming back from the NRA convention where he and some other Ruger collectors displayed their collections. He used to collect old Winchester lever guns but sold those to start collecting Ruger #1s. He now has a ton of them for personal use and is a dealer of them. His gun shop is in PidCoke Texas and by the looks of it he has done quite well. We relived old hunting memories, shared pictures and I showed him my little trophy room/den. It was great catching up with him. He told me if I wanted to deer hunt his place to come on down. I just might take him up on it. He told me the story on his biggest buck to date. Here is the story on his shop’s page. www.classicsportingarms.com/Lots of good information on Ruger #1. Just click on the page MENU

They are beautiful rifles and certainly well worth collecting.

The Ruger #1's have a good following. I've always thought they were a bit ugly. Much more a fan of fine wood stocked bolt action rifles, but to each their own.

I saw the name Ruger and just had to stop in and check the thread out. I've never owned a Ruger #1 but I've loved all the Rugers I've had and still have.
