I’m rigging up some spinning combos and I’m looking for input on your favorite or best knot to tie a mono or fluorocarbon leader to braided line!

There’s one called the FG knot, there’s a video on YouTube. It’s pretty smooth when I can get it right. Sometimes takes a few tries.

I like the double Uni knot. www.animatedknots.com/uni-knotPull them tight so there is no loop between the two lines. Single Uni knot is my go-to knot when fishing saltwater too.

I use the albright knot. Easy to perform and remember for me. Never tried the double uni though

I prefer the triple GRANNY followed by a basic double GRANNY.

Not sure it has a name
Pull line through O ring on leader or lure wrap around main line 5 times creating a loop run back through eye than the loop you created spit on it pull tight trim extra That’s the only one I’ve ever used

That's what we use. With heavier line, I have better luck with the standard clinch knot. You skip the last step of putting the tag thru the last loop.

I have used the Alberto knot for several years. Works well for me and is easy enough to tie.

Improved Clinch Knot. www.animatedknots.com/improved-clinch-knotThe Uni Knot allows you to attach two wildly different line diameters together without either of them slipping.

IMO, FG knot is the best one, comes through the guides smoother than any other knot. Can be challenging to learn to tie. I like to tie the braid to the reel handle, take the slack out and load up the rod tip slightly then tie the leader on.

LOL at first it seems way complicated but practice makes perfect and there are various tying methods. I prefer to attach the braid to the reel handle and take up the slack to maintain slight tension on the braid while attaching the leader. Mr. Swindle does a decent job of showing how this method is done. youtu.be/uyf-yBdaeZA

I wrap the braid around the pinky finger of my left hand, and I can easily control the tension that way.

My first attempts were atrocious! I’m looking forward to some downtime to practice alongside the videos you texted me!

John Collins Knot. Easy, won't fail. That is what I tie, except I do 10 twists each way. Not sure why other than that is how I was taught. Also was told it was Albright knot but I never was good with names. All I know is it works, fast and easy to tie and slim. Only issue is when cottonwood is blooming and that almost makes fishing painful anyways
