Could be a buck of a lifetime..... Find where his primary bedding is, and you are in business. Get some stands up between his bedding and food sources ,and hunt when wind it right. Best of luck to you.

I'm going to say 3.5 for last hunting season. I want to say 4.5, but I'm not familiar with the genetics of the area so that makes it tough to age him up one year.
Whether he'll be 4.5 this season or older, I would say he'd be a shooter this upcoming season.
Nice buck. Good luck.

Heck I'm lucky just to find a suitable tree.

You all need to put up one of those height measure things like the convience stores have. Give a guy some reference point

I bet I could pay for a great lease in Illinois on prime ground for the amount of time I spend there.

I'd say the time of year plays a part in judging those pictures. I'd like to see what he looked like in late October before the rut affected his body.

Mature bucks home ranges can vary depending on quality of habitat, can be as small as 300 acres , but most 500-600 when factor in rutting areas, maybe larger. Undisturbed cover with lots of good food available are things they look for.

300-600 acres around here is probably around 75 property lines. Which means roughly 150 hunters. Yep I'd say he would be on someone else's radar also. At least around here.

Unfortunately I am pretty sure that the property is not his home range, he's just there because of the high doe population. When I first had an opportunity to hunt that property, I saw lots of big bucks. I passed on many that were good deer thinking that they'd grow to big deer. I never saw them again. So, it's a complete unknown if he will show up again.
I was there the other day looking at some deer trails and saw where a deer stepped over a log that was snow covered. Bright red blood was on the snow but I couldn't find any on the deer trail whatsoever. This is not in a reduction zone, so the only reason why a deer should be bleeding is someone shooting out of season.
