Finished the stairs up this evening. Now time to get back to the basement. Trim and and an accent wall are next on the list for down there. Some are suggesting a handle but I'd think about what you are going to be taking in and out of that room before you decide what to do about that. Maybe a rail on the wall side. I won’t turn him in but by code he has to install one on the open side the balusters can’t be more than I believe 4 inch’s apart so a kid can’t get a head stuck in it. I have a 2nd stairs from my garage down into the basement mechanical room so you can drag salt furnace filters lawn furniture and stuff without going into the house. I built the handrail out of 2 x 4 and 2 x 2 turned the top one on edge than screwed it on that way a few screws and it’s off if I ever needed

I installed an outlet and a motion LED light on our garage. It's not a big project but it's been on my to do list for a long time. I'm still dealing with a wrist injury from last fall so I'm kind of limited on what I can do. Still a project got 50 of those jobs not a bunch but still take time to get them done. That's how you eat an elephant, one bite at a time. Or one project at a time. Look at the big picture and it's overwhelming. Look at a small piece and it's easily done.

The kids head has to be pretty fat to get stuck in those..... LOL

LOL [ Idk I barely can get my hands through a 4 inch’s space let a lone my head but I believe that’s a national code lots of them make no sense One going right now is wind shear on garage doors and windows in the corner of a home you have to run your header wall to wall unless you have 18 inch’s of wall before your opening because a tornado would not be able to blow that down another is lagging wall plates down like I told the inspector well at least we won’t need a blueprint to rebuild the walls after the tornado all the bottom plates will still be here For some reason they tend not to like me

Everyone can have their way. Seeing that wall at the bottom and having BTDT kinda like that. It is just something I'd think about and make a good plan for how I want to use it all. The "code man" ain't gonna lift a couch or a weight bench over that 42 inch rail for ya.

I was going to move the stairs the opposite direction to avoid the closeness to the wall, but too many other things involved with the big one being the electric panel in the way. Original stairs were there with no handrail and these ones are a bit longer to make the slope correct. I’m in no hurry to put up a rail. If it’s needed when we decide to sell I’ll throw one up then.

Does the never ending job of clearing dead ash trees count as a project? Every time the wind blows its a job that needs done. A hawk flew right over me while I was working. It landed on a branch nearby and didn't pay any attention to me running a chainsaw.

Woodmaster went up to our place to put in new batteries in my cell trail camera. We have permission to turkey hunt the 80 acre farm that adjoins our southern border so he went back there to put up another cell camera. The 1/4 mile lane back to it has four pretty good sized trees down on it. One fell smack onto the lane gate. I contacted the non-resident owner and I guess he and the share cropper farmer will get on it as it won’t be long to start putting crops in. .

Don’t make them like they use to…. We use to weld gates like that together in High school using acetylene torch and wire…. Back in the Day!

Watched a big hawk eat "something" sitting on the ground about 20 yards from the window. Couldn't find any identifying leavings after he was gone.

I've been melting steel wire and gluing steel together. Bout done with the trailer ? I haven't even started on that yet..... And I have to run to Arkansas to get fish for one customer ASAP, maybe late next week. Luckily I can fit everything in the truck in 2 tanks. All the fish for a 1+ acre pond.
