I'm normally not a public guy about things like this but I'm asking for some major prayers right now. Long story short, she developed with a cancer of the eye and had it removed at about 18 months old... Since then she's fought with cancer her whole life. She had Ewings in her lungs in high school, so they took out half of a lung and pulled it out. Well, around the time we started dating in 2021 her cancer came back and it wasn't gone as they missed a spot. Since then they've done chemo in different forms, but just to keep it at bay. Recently they tried a new therapy and couldn't use chemo but it failed and the spot got bigger. Now she is going to NIH to try a new form of treatment. I'm just praying that this works... Her whole life she's basically been a part of experiments and it's hard seeing her this way. She is the strongest and happiest person I've ever met, and deep down inside I know she's hurting. I was blessed to be able to lead her to Christ this past summer, so I'm just praying that through this it can strengthen her faith and she can finally kick this issue once and for all. No one should ever have to go through this and it continuously tests my faith as well... A 21 year old girl should never have to deal with this, let alone her whole life. Prayers and support are greatly appreciated, especially as I try and lead her right now.

We’ll keep her, and all of you ministering to her, in prayer.

She has an appointment this morning to check her ANC levels, she was supposed to fly out Monday to Maryland for her latest treatment but they were too low... Today they're checking again so she can hopefully fly out tonight.

Keep the faith and push those doctors. Every day they come up with new and better treatments. I have seen it on a young kid who realistically should not be here today. He fought hard from 2 yrs old until 8 yrs old. He has been cancer free for 2 years now. Just, gladly, bought some overpriced popcorn from him.
He extended his life through experimental drugs and trials. Clearly his parents knew his odds and struggled with making decisions none of us like to think about. No telling what could have or would have happened if they just relied upon normal treatments.
Cancer is a horrible disease but every day the smart people are finding better treatment methods

Bouncing around hospitals trying to find something new has been the most brutal thing. Especially with all the different drugs she's put on for EACH test (in addition to ones she already has to take in general). Just trying to help her not live in fear right now.

It isn't looking good right now. This new treatment has shocked her body and she won't be able to go back to school this spring and she's heartbroken... I'm honestly not sure what to say right now, she's terrified of not having any friends and losing what she started last year. Any guidance on this would be appreciated.

I'm honestly not sure what to say right now, she's terrified of not having any friends and losing what she started last year. Any guidance on this would be appreciated. Just lots of prayers and leave it all in God's hands.. In 2018 my wife was in the hospital for 6 weeks and 1 day. It started out with an obstructed bowel caused by scar tissue from her hysterectomy 45 years ago. A 3 AM emergency surgery took care of that. They pumped three liters of bile out of her stomach and she could not eat for 3 days. I spent the major portion of the surgery time in the hospital chapel. After 4 days they released her to a rehab facility. There she had a minor heart attack. Back to the hospital. They put her on a strong blood thinner and she started passing blood from her bladder. Making a long story shorter - it was one thing after another. I'd pray and pray and BAM something else came up. A couple times I thought I would lose her. One morning as I sat at my kitchen table drinking coffee before going to the hospital I broke completely down. I cried more than I had ever cried before. Finally in prayer I said," Lord, I am tired. I cant go on. Please just give us peace and we will leave the rest in your hands." I was wanting God to heal my wife on my terms and time. Thats not the way it always works. God's time is not our time. His peace did come over me that morning. Both of us then were willing to accept any outcome. When someone I know asks for prayers the first prayer is always for them is for peace and comfort and then healing. If you have the Lord's peace and comfort you can handle anything. Ask for it above all else. Prayers continuing for you and your lady.

Sometimes just being there for them and listening to them is more helpful than anything. Make sure she knows that you are there for her. Pray, pray and then pray some more.

Sorry to hear the struggles. I can give you advice from the perspective of other friends and colleagues that have been through a loved one's medical issues. First and foremost, it is ok to be afraid and ok to ask for help.
On the topic of her missing school and potentially losing or falling behind her friends, let her know many folks take time off, change directions or move. When she is healthy there will be new friends and I bet she will have no issue making new friends and her old friends will stay in touch. Don't get offended if a few fade away. We all have close people fade away. Sometimes it is me. Sometimes it is them.
Thoughts and prayers for her and you. Hang in there and keep positive even when it is almost impossible.

She had to be admitted into the hospital last night due to her extremely bad reactions to her new treatments. They're running tests right now but wasn't good last night at all...

Well she went into the hospital the other night and has double lung pneumonia. While they were running tests they found out her new chemo treatment they started hasn't been working and her cancer spots have been growing the last two weeks... so we'll see where the doctors go from here.

Well they released her Friday, but it has gotten worse. She may now have to go back to the hospital because of a bad fever... It really is getting more irritating because I have to be around people at work who are sick/getting sick and can't visit because of that. They took her off of her immune system meds (they're hard on your body weirdly enough) so I can't go see her without a potential hospital visit on her end... Honestly, I don't know for certain what they're going to do right now but all I can do is pray for her immediate health right now..
