Cats are just as good as dogs. They are family...
Sorry to hear...

Loss of a pet is hard. I have dug the hole for many. I know how I felt for each. I am sure you feel the same.

That sucks, sorry to hear that. We all know those times are coming, but it never gets any easier.

Sorry for the loss of your cat. Pets become part of the family over time.

I seldom read beyond the deer hunting forum, so just now seeing this. I'm sorry to see this, Woody, and you have my sincere condolences. My wife and I have had to endure the euthanasia scenario for cats more times than I can count over our 27-year marriage. The last two were each 16-years old. The last one was our ginger male Sam that, like you, I'd been giving a squirt of thyroid medicine twice a day for a couple of years. He finally started getting cancerous tumors on his back and hindquarters, along with weight loss, so we made the call. It never gets any easier. We currently have five indoor cats left, and one of those has FIV and leukemia and must be kept separated from the others.

As I had mentioned (earlier in this thread) our cat has been suffering from kidney disease for over a year. She put forth a valiant effort but we could tell she was losing ground.
Today, we had to put her down.
I'm really going to miss her.

Sorry jjas… Cats are prone to kidney problems. Our vet says something about 4 stages of it with 4 being the worst and when a cat gets there it’s pretty well all over for them. Kasey was at 2. It seems strange not having Kasey laying on the couch beside me while I watch tv ..or eat something.

On a brighter note, one of the best things about pets is naming them!
I'm gonna start a new thread asking for some of our pets names over the years. I'll have a LOT to add, but will be later until I'm home.

It's just unbelievable to me how they sense our emotions or when we feel bad. They are a different animal my hooch cat won't leave my side if he senses something is wrong

Very sorry to hear Woody, hate that more than anything, they are truly a part of the family. Had to put my best bud down (Cannon) just a couple days after we returned from our hunting trip...Our condolences...SF Woody
