From the looks of it we are going to have a good opener. Im just going to set at my pond where I built a blind for training gun dogs out of. My son and his crew are hitting up there usual spot, I scouted it out last night and the lake was loaded with geese and ducks, mostly ringers.

That's good to hear. BTW how is BRIAN? Brian is doing awesome, he and his fiance have moved into a house just a few miles from home. My wife and I are on cloud 9, we get to watch the granddaughter on the weekends!!!! Chilling with Grandpa watching hunting channel.  |

Brian and his buddies killed a 4 man limit. Mix of pintails, mallard, woodies, ringers and teal, couple geese. I’m sitting at the table drinking coffee and it sounds like everyone is still banging away this morning.

There is a raft of about 3-4000 ringers on the lake just north of my house. I would guess the bluebills should be arriving soon. I called my buddy and he has been going out the last 3 mornings. They were done with a 6 man limit in 12 minutes yesterday, he just text me and said they are already done this morning and heading home.

Brian had a good shoot yesterday. Was back at the house 20 minutes after shooting started. 1 mallard, 2 shovels, 2 goldeneye, 1 bluebill.

Well change the 2 shovels with more mallards and goldeneye with canvas backs or more blue bills or even ring necks. I have eaten goldeneye and it made bacon taste like a shad |

He will be breaking ice again in the morning. I like duck hunting but standing in ice water to my chest is not fun.

Brian killed two canvas back, goldeneye, gadwall, drake mallard and a hen. Went for a bath as well lmao, glad it was only waist deep.
