Hey y’all.
I’ve got experience hunting Wilbur Wright FWA, Morgan Monroe, HNF and along the Knobstone Trail.
If I wanted to get for doves, are there any non-draw mourning dove opportunities out there are state / federal lands? For instance, WW FWA has some fields on the western side, but I haven’t scoped them out enough to know their contents.
I’m aware that I’ll need to use a magazine plug and steel shot.

Atterbury F&W area has dove opportunities, but I’m unaware of how their fields look this year.

Goosepond is open now. Only 1st 3 days of season are draw hunts

Pigeon River is draw for the first few days then walk in I believe.
The draw also allows a no show draw, pretty easy to get in that.

Pretty much across the state the fields didn't do well according to dnr I talked to. Atterbury fields looked about as good as the others I've been to. There are sunflowers down and doves are flying. As of Tuesday they are hesitant about using the fields. Alot of high flying birds and most is pass shooting. I'm sure they will settle down as we get farther away from opening day. Unfortunately not a lot of time until the weeds start growing and the fields become useless. |

Check properties. Atterbury and patoka didn't have times besides legal shooting light after draw days
