Went out on the river this morning from around 9 till 1. Was pretty over cast all morning which seemed to be the ticket. Very first cast was the pic. Probably boated 30+ easily. My partner stopped counting after 12. No walleyes at all though. Sure was better than being at work today....

Almost forgot. I lost 5 sr-5's along the way. At 7 bucks a piece its almost like being robbed at rod-point.....

Good deal. The ole St Joe has a lot of great fishing flowing thru her. Our favorite by far!
No kidding on lure prices. We stopped by Tackle Haven in Benton Harlem, then Rusty Hook in Niles. There must be $5 million in inventory, or at least the asking prices. Lol.
My dad taught me that you cant be impatient or upset easily when fishing rivers. You are gonna lose a lot of tackle, or you aren't fishing the right spots. 😉 We mostly drift with jigs or cast and bounce them down stream, need I say more? 😉

20 lb test I told ya 95 percent chance your tackle will come home
The one thing I do lose still is lead heads or jig heads but those are maybe 20 cents or less each

Throwing shadraps all morning using 6lb test is usually what I am doing. If I switch to bait fishing I will beef up the line. I did snap off 2 that were pulling real nice and I never saw them.

All river gods eat well. When you sacrifice enough they reward you with a good day every once in a while...just enough to keep you hooked

That river is a true bit@#.. she will empty your tackle bag in a hurry. Some days I can float down and not loose a thing. Others I am lucky to get back to the ramp with my shirt.
