Had my plots worked up and ready for a week or more and was just waiting for some rain in forecast before planting. Saw rain in the forecast for Saturday night, so hustled Saturday afternoon to get 4 acres of turnips and another fall blend planted. Rain came as forecast 1/2" Saturday night so it worked out great.
Still have one plot to put in winter wheat, but waiting a couple more weeks to plant it.

I have a little growth from what I planted last weekend, but not a lot. Need good moisture soon.

We will be putting our food plots in next Friday. We’ve had decent rain so ground moisture should be good
Some rain is forecast after that too.
I’m just hoping I don’t get a repeat of the “Army Worm Invasion”.. 😳

We got 1/2" rain Saturday night which was helpful, but definitely could use some more.

Well, I think I have learned an expensive lesson. I've seen several YouTube guys broadcast seed then immediately follow up with glyphosate to kill weeds and/or summer plantings, so that's what I did. Twelve days later, the only clover I've got growing is in a few small strips that I missed with the sprayer. I have another bag of seed ordered, going to try again before the next rain.

Clover is quite slow to get growing regardless. Typically takes a couple years, some over seeding and a few mowings to get a nice clover patch.

A buddy of mine has great success spraying first, going back after it's turned brown and overseeding; THEN mowing to cut up the dead plants and cover the seed. I've never heard of seeding then spraying.

We need some stinking rain badly. Planted first of my fall plots two weeks ago when they were calling for rain and we got 1/2" that evening. Planted last of the plots last week when they were calling for rain and we got another 1/2" the next day. Conditions were already dry and that combined 1" really didn't do much.
Nothing forecast here till Monday or Tuesday and I don't trust forecasts that far out anyway. The whole area could use an inch or two badly.

Getting ready to plant mine. It is the dustiest/driest I’ve ever seen it. Tilled up nice though. Hopefully we will get rain soon?

South Bend is running 3" low on rain this month alone, here I am way behind them. The maple tree in the front yard has drooping leaves.

Plots are popping up nicely, but still need more rain. A few days ago a storm dumped 3” on me.. followed up by another inch the next day. Rain forecast for Saturday so that’s great. .

Just got a couple of those Reveal Tacticams and got one set out today. It's a bit of a learning experience.

What a difference a couple inches of rain makes. I have tiny little brassica plants and clovers coming up everywhere now, incredible germination. I wound up seeding at about 1.5x the recommended rate, hopefully that doesn't come back to bite me.
The main thing now I think is continued moisture hopefully, and enough time before a hard freeze to get some decent growth out of it.
I still intend to broadcast some rye into it in a couple weeks, along with a bit of urea for the brassicas.
