Nothing makes a dog lover happier than a pup showing great potential at an early age. My pup has about a dozen dove retrieves under her collar already. Excellent! My male isn't much of a retriever(the breed isn't known for it) so my main focus on him was finding live birds then finding the downed bird. We NEVER lost one bird over him, even in heavy cover or briars. This year we will begin the Force Fetch process. She shows good signs of wanting to retrieve, so we will see how it goes, but same thing, just focused on finding birds for us to shoot! |
