And here I am burning up in the sunshine and heat working parking at the Johnson county fair. If any ones coming today between now and 5 I’m at the gate near Wendy’s and Dairy Queen. Stop in and say hey.

Woke up a bit before 6 slow time to a bunch of rain hail hitting the house. It seemed to be coming from all directions. I looked outside and the truck looked a bit weird. Awww, a bunch of dirty words. I left both front windows completely down in the truck. Ran out there, got soaked and got the windows up. Looked at the rain gauge, had 1" in it. Came back inside and the power went out. Dried off the best I could and crawled back into bed - not much else to do at that point. Got up a bit later, still pouring, I ended up with 2.25". The rain came in BOTH windows, the dash was wet, seats were soggy, passenger door had about 1/4" rain in the door panel cubbyhole.
The rain let up around 11:30, I went out there with the shop vac and sucked up what I could from the seats and front carpet. Left the doors open this afternoon, and it seems to have dried out pretty well, but I am putting a de-humidifier inside the cab tonight and will let it run all night long with the vents on recirc.
I never leave the windows down, I have no idea why I did it last night.
I did leave the house and had to put towels on the drivers seat. A few trees came down, and NIPSCO was replacing 2 electric poles on the next street to the East. I heard that 70 mph winds were reported, the trees that came down were good sized Oaks but rotten in the center.

We are in the middle of it now. Another half inch so far. Looks like worse is still yet to come today.
Feast or famine like usual. Dry forever, and now flooding. Roads were ponding all the way home from fishing. Saw 2 cars hydroplane for a second, luckily stayed on track, but wouldnt you think you would slow down at that point?

We lost power yesterday for about 7 hours. Both REMC and NIPSCO braved the elements and worked hard to get everyone back up and running. I'd sure hate to be up in the air in those boom trucks while the lightening was all around.
Raining here this morning but, nothing like yesterday. Just over 2" in the rain gauge now. That includes yesterday's rainfall.

Yesterday ended with .2" more than stated, so 2" for total. Todays rain was .7". So I am close to 5" in last 2 weekends!
Soaked right in here. I mowed and barely had any clumps.
Hate to jinx it, but... mosquitoes are about non existant. Ssshhhhhhhh

I seined a pond about 55 miles S of Terra Haute, but over in Illinois on Monday. The owner dang near sucked it dry with a manure pump sucker (with a propeller on it) that used a 6" hose for the last pull. he called this morning saying that the 1 ac pond was overflowing this morning. I'd love to have that rain up here!
