Yep, I saw we had 5/8" and that was around 4pm, I will check in the morning. I wish it was about 6" more, we could use it. Now the grass will green up and grow, I'll have to mow and it will be brown before we get the next batch of rain in 2+ weeks.

Just checked when I got home from work. We got 9/10" in NE LaPorte county. Our grass never got in bad shape due to shade and good soil.

5/16" here yesterday. I was supposed to go seine a forage pond at a clients place in Illinois, about 50 miles S of I-70. That got shoved back a few weeks until he dries out. The pond is around an acre, he had it drained down about 10 feet, so that left about 4 feet of water in it. He called yesterday evening, saying that the water is going over the dam..... They had about 6+" of rain in less than 24 hours.

All kidding aside, Mother Nature has a way of balancing things out. Does that mean a cold Winter?
Time will tell...

It's not that hot. Just typically July. Not even any 100's yet. Back in the 70's hitting 100 was common. Not even upper 90's. Differences is us. Look at 60/70 photos and count over weight people vs. today. Back in either 86 or 87 I played an out door semi pro game in Fort Wayne. Temperature was 107. Now that was hot. youtu.be/zvJ2v05JZTA

Maybe field temp you recorded, but that probably doesn’t match the guys next door all day today putting on a new roof.

I was here for the 1988 one it has been a warm spring and summer but I remember years when it was hotter Getting a big blow right now pouring like crazy wind thunder lightning wish it would just rain we have had a lot of these storms water just runs off and never gets time to soak down
